All of the points in the class come from 4 exam's and attendance. The tests are extremely hard so be prepared to study hard if you want a good grade. The average grades for the class on the tests were around 55%. Professor is nice, but hard to understand. He did curve the grade scale so majority of class could pass. Avoid this class if possible

Class was not difficult at all. You get a study guide and you can get answers to each question by going to class. Memorize each answer to the question and you will do just fine. The class is based on two exams and one final (25%/25%/50%). You do not need any books for this class. You can get access most material in the online library if needed.

One of the most boring uncaring professors ever. Couldnt teach all the materials in time, puts it in the tests anyways.

You can go to class every day and still wont understand. You can study and you still wont pass. He will have a class average of a 50% and blame the students. If I was not graduating this semester I would have dropped. He is a terrible professor. Does not care about anything but gives extra credit for going to his Chinese study lecture.

On day one you are given a syllabus that contains about 12 textbooks required for the course & are told that your entire grade comes down to 3 major tests. He has a very thick accent that can be hard to understand at times. Does not curve. Majority of the class will fail the exams. Every1 tries to check out the book for the final exam all at once.

whole class based on 3 exams. you really have to pay attention and review on your own. too much info is shot at you but he is a very nice man have to give him that. He will help you if you need it and is willing to do grade curve but i dont recommend taking this class if youre looking for an easy class.

This is a class you should avoid if possible. 3 test make up 95% of the grade and they are very tough. You have to memorize the entire review guide which is almost 30 questions with multiple answers to each question. Lectures are very long and boring. Definitely the worst professor I have had at Western. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

Hard to understand at times. Teaching methods could be better. Overall a very informative class. Reading the books makes his lectures more relevant. Learned a lot from this class. Pay attention and will get an easy B, have to study hard for A. Recommended for students learning econ outside of US

Very difficult class, the class is only 3 tests and the final is worth 50% of your grade. Over half the class failed the first test. This class is more of a history class of Asian economics than and an econ class. Nice teacher and he is pretty helpful, but the amount of material covered on each test is too much. Avoid if possible.

Easily the worst teacher I have ever had in college or high school. He is one of those teachers that knows what hes talking about but doesn't understand why you can't understand him. Class average on first test was 65%. This was with 15 of us studying together and really putting in time. There were only 4 A/B's. Stay clear, take AA studies instead.

i hated this class. he's annoying and hard to follow. i went because attendance was part of your grade, but i always did hw for my other classes instead of listening. if you read the assigned material and memorize the answers to the exam guide questions he gives you, you'll do fine. just bring a magazine or something because he's really boring.

This class couldn't be any easier. Before every test he gives a review sheet and the exact page and book of where to find the answer. I think we used 5 books but the two main ones you can use at the library and the rest are on electronic reserve. Nice guy and always helpful if you had a question. You need to know your stuff though for the test.
