Comment:

Prof. Metzger relies on Math Lab for everything except tests which she grades an rewards effort! On-campus intro and syllabus are clear and gives extra credit for test reviews. There were a few emails that went unanswered but there are resources online. This is a tough online class if you don't understand pre-algebra because you're on your own.

Horrible horrible teacher! Literally teaches you nothing and expects you to rely on mymathlab to figure everything out. No textbook so there is no reference for anything. I had no background in trig so I was clueless most of the time on how to do any of the hw and this prof doesnt answer emails or helps in any way. Waste of time. Having to retake.

awful teacher! i took the lecture and it was basically like an online class, all the homework and review was online. She didn't have reviews for the test, she didn't answer homework questions, and she's not good at explaining the concepts and skips steps. There's a workbook involved and you spend the whole class working on 1-3 problems.

Comment:

I took this class online and did not do well but that's not this professor's fault. I've never excelled in math but Math Lab is awesome! Although I'm probably going to fail this class, it's actually the first time I understand difficult Algebra concepts.

Online. Pearson access about $100. Very clear syllabus. Minimal contact as you should be independent as software does all. About 3-10 hours per week on HW, repeat question until correct. One quiz a week, take 3 times for best. Good on emails. Tests about 5 points per question and 20 questions. Moderate difficult tests. Final moderate. Take her. EC

Online class, so I had minimal interaction with her but returns emails very fast. I thought the program she used for the course was beneficial. There is a lot of homework, but if you complete it, the tests were easy. She gives extra credit opportunities for every test. Felt she was a very lenient grader.

About 2 tests a month. In class we do our textbook which was given to us for free. Work in groups. Good environment. Learn by groups while teacher walks around and hopes. Basically all word problems and a lot of connecting the dots. Make sure you understand and catch up. About 20-45min of hw each night. Try to do the hw early on & review everyday.

This class is pretty tough. This class consists of powerpoints and homework you must watch and do every night of the week. And you need to do them if you actually want to understand what you will be doing in class. There is no actual lectures the lectures are the power points online so really focus on them. Teacher does try to help. 1/2

Homework every day, even on test days. She doesn't do a good job teaching the material in class, you actually have to meet with her. Don't just meet with her once or twice, go as much as possible. She puts you in groups, and switches the group almost after every test. She checks homework and notebooks for credit She does test corrections for points

Very good teacher. Gives you different ways to do the same problem- seems like some students were confused by that, but it is in order to prepare you for higher level math where you have to think through a problem and not just use a single way of doing a problem. Great teacher

She talked in first class about math anxiety and she demonstrates anxiety in every class. It is like she wants out of there in the worst way. She is rude when you email her a question, & in my current class, ONE student is the only 1 she responds to. She allows DRC (the same one) student to be rude to everyone else. Even the other disabled students

class began last week. I've dropped, orientation was last Wednesday. She already assigned (6) pages of h/w due last night. The positive comments left must have been from students who don't have to work. Trust me, if you have to work &/or other obligations DON'T take her. You will drown in h/w. Plus exams are on campus which is annoying.

Mrs. Metzger is a really wonderful teacher! She is helpful, if you act like you care she will care for you. The textbook she used was a great textbook. She doesn't gives a ton of HW- about 6 pages a week. There were 7 tests and are not hard, just stuff that was on the homework. She has office hours so if you need help, ask! Really great teacher!!!

She is horrible. I can not wait till the semester is over! First of she does not even teach off of the book and does it her own way which makes it diffucult to understand when your book is your reference. Tends to be rude to students when they ask questions and gets annoyed quicky. Do not take her unless u need too.
