Class not mandatory unless you are trying to pass. Even then, he stands in front of the board after writing notes and it's nearly impossible to keep up. Tried to go to his office hours before - wasn't there. He's very tough on grading & will take off a lot of unnecessary points on both homework assignments and tests which makes it hard to pass

A tough professor, I can see why many wouldn't like him. His manner is very abrupt, but I liked his class. I learned from him well and even managed to finish with an A. Overall I'm glad I took the honors route

the man is a ****... grades extremely harshly and throws curve-balls on every test. Completely useless at his office hours. Though obviously a brilliant mathematician, he's an awful teacher. I would absolutely NOT recommend 1224H

I took vector geometry with him as an honors class and it was fairly hard, although he did give extra credit. "And when the smoke clears..." no the smoke is still there...

He's a nice guy, but he doesn't teach in a step - by - step manner. He just throws things on the board and expects you to know how he arrived there. Also his grading is erratic. Not a good class, I would recommend taking the normal 1224 and the Honors 1114.

He wrote his own book so he uses it. The subject matter is very simple but he makes it hard. Gives lots of extra credit at the end so it all balances out.

Dr. Kohler seems to have a difficult time conveying the subject matter to the class. He gives you all the information but it didn't seem to sink in with the class. If you are good in math you wont have a problem in this class, otherwise, maybe another teacher would be in your best interests.

Very difficult subject. Nice guy, but doesn't teach well and grades very unfairly. Don't be surprised to spend hours on homework and get a zero. Only take this course if you really want a D or F, C if your really lucky.
