Prof Jenkins tells you to buy five books that honestly you do not need if you go to the lecture. The midterm and final are both take home essays that if you take notes in lecture you have all the answers to. Not hard to do well in the class just show up.

May be the worst person to ever teach me. He was rude, unclear, narcissistic, unfair, & an overall bad personality to be around. Spent each class rambling and was an entirely bias grader. He once neglected to grade one of my assignments because he thought it wasn't long enough to be worth his time (there was no length requirement). Avoid this man.

Knows his stuff, but lectures drag on. Attendance is mandatory & checked daily (3 absences). Textbooks are scarcely used and you won't know which ones you need till it's essay time. You get a week to do 2 essays (4-5 pgs each), once for midterm & again for final. You will also need to write an 8-pg essay with the final. Gives extra credit work.

He's is a nice man but his lectures are very boring. He does no have a power point so note taking is necessary. He lectures every class for the whole class. Attendance is a grade and there aren't many assignments so you need to do well one the few he gives. He also did not set up canvas. The list of books are useless and are not needed for class.

Very boring lectures, just talks the whole time and doesn't use power point. Makes you buy text books that you wont even use. Your whole grade is determined by one test, two papers (long papers) and a presentation. Papers are kind of easy but long, around 15 pages. The presentation is just talking to the class about something, its not a powerpoint

If you are taking this class as e GenEd, get ready for it to be more involved than expected. One 10 page paper as a midterm and two separate 10 page papers due during Finals Week... Dr. Jenkins has no online presence AT ALL and if you miss one class you will be at a disadvantage when it comes to the "final." Don't take if you want an easy GenEd.

Class experience will consist of Professor Jenkins pacing back and forth while lecturing and yelling at sleeping students (I can empathize with them) to wake up. Two Papers and one final project are all you'll need to do to pass.

MIS major, took this as an elective senior semester. Lectures can be hard to follow but just make note of the terms he writes on the agenda, then research them during class if you have a laptop. Prof is very friendly and loves participation. Few graded assignments (two 15-page papers and presentation) and attendance make up the final grade.

Professor Jenkins was very boring. He did not use powerpoint and his lectures did not have any purpose to them. He just walked up and down the aisle talking about anything. I tried really hard to pay attention and take notes but it was impossible. He does not use blackboard at all. He checks attendance every day.

Lectures entire class everyday. Is not a hard professor. Have two four page papers due for midterm and final and another interview paper.

I took Professor Jenkins' Race and Diversity through history class. He is extremely lecture heavy, and that is what most of the course is based around. He also asked you to buy several books, but I only used one. Overall there are only three papers due which are easy if you take notes and throw in some quotes and he gives a ton of extra credit.

His lectures don't make sense, he writes random words on the board & starts ranting about them without explaining how they connect. Only one assignment besides the midterm & final which is an 8-12 page paper that has nothing to do with the class. Not to mention he doesn't use blackboard so you have to go out of your way to hand in the final.

Its clear Prof Jenkins is passionate and knows what he's talking about but his lectures are so boring and that's all the class is made up of. He made me buy books I never used, including one he wrote. Whole grade is based on 2 tests and a paper. He doesn't use blackboard and is super unavailable to help with anything outside of class.

I think he's a very knowledgable man. Definitely lectures the whole time but that's not something I mind, just make sure you take notes. He tells you literally everything you need for your 2 take home exams including the questions he'll ask. He's given 3 extra credit opportunities in the first half of the semester.

Prof. Jenkins is an amazing professor, I took his U.S Society class. Make sure you take a ton of notes, and annotate the readings. His lectures are extremely interesting and he incorporates his own experiences into them. . You have two papers,if you write a lot you'll get an A. No tests, got a 100 on both papers and gives a ton of extra credit.

Ok this guy lives under a rock, but he is so hilarious. His lectures are sometimes boring and hard to understand he mumbles alot , but I highly recommend taking notes, because you can just re type everything for your papers. Oh and his papers arn't too bad, just make sure you write a lot because then you'll get a higher grade. overall, nice guy

Classic example of somebody who is passionate about their subject area, but just flounders as an educator. Had him for the GenEd History and Significance of Race in America (Race/Diversity) and would not recommend. Really unclear about assignments, rambles a ton/you have no idea where he is going, no clear direction, refuses to use Blackboard.

Very heavy reading load, long papers but only for midterm and final. Uses books instead of a text book for class. Readings are necessary for paper Gives you all the materials that you would need to complete any papers and offers to look over drafts during office hours. Good teacher, but you have to do the work.

This class is a Gen Ed, DONT TAKE THIS ONE! There are SO many to choose from and this guy is so ambiguous with everything he does. He does not use the Internet (it's 2015). He literally brings in extra large boxes filled with 50 page packets, like 7 of them, all for the 10 page exams. I'm a business student and an excellent writer, and I got a C+.
