Nice guy overall. Don't include your opinion in any work you do for him, he doesnt care. he just wants you to learn the material the way he presents it. dont stray to your thoughts. though he is cynical, still a very smart man who gives good life lessons.

This is one of the most important classes you will ever take. You will most likely become a better person after taking it because of this man. He tries to be as objective as possible but on papers and essays you need to emphasize what he does and learn the material his way. He's brilliant and moral although a bit cynical. Listen to him!

Wilcox *knows* his stuff - he does lecture most of the time but the material (everything in the Ethics textbook) can be really difficult and he'll go through it all (Memorize the sheets he hands out for the tests!!) and remember to explain everything in the essay (he likes longer papers.) You'll love him!

USELESS. I can't tell if last years BU Prof Markov or Wilcox is worse, but humanities is a failed department so far. Wilcox lectures during discussion and lectures during lecture. Its extremely difficult to follow his rambling tangents of irrelevancy to the subject. He will fail you if he doesn't like you, straight up. get on his good side.

He isn't compassionate or sympathetic at all. He rambles on during discussion so it's not even a "discussion." Hard grader on exams (all essay based) and essays. Two papers per semester. Picks favorites (those who go to office hours). He lacks clarity when he speaks.. too much philosophical mumble jumble.

What a cute little man! People say that he rambles (which he does) but its rambling on-topic. He talks very slowly so its easy to take notes and goes over concepts again and again so if you zone out you can zone in and still get the information you need. His discussions are more lecture-based than discussion based. study the handouts! He is my fav!

While he is funny sometimes, he is a useless professor. You can do well in his class on your own. His "lectures" are all ramblings, and his discussion sections are just more of his own ramblings--students never get a word in edgewise. Want to talk about subjectivity in philosophy? With this guy it's his way is the only way. He was useless.

Wilcox is a nice person but he sucks at his profession. He is hilarious with his comments, but I must admit that I was often times not listening to what he was saying since he rambles on A LOT.

Lacks the compassion necessary to be an effective teacher. His class must be your top priority; no slack--even for a death in the family. Go to his office hours, but he may or may not be there. Appointments aren't a guaruntee. If your schedule doesn't fit his, you're screwed. Better off petitioning out of the class for a CAS philosophy class

Wilcox is very knowledgable about his subject, philosophy, and he's always willing to help. He tends to really like the students that go to his office with their concerns. He also gives out worksheets to every student on the subject of the week which comes in very handy for the exams.

easy easy professor. most of the time his second lecture of each week is useless (where he presents slides of paintings, sculptures, etc. he doesn't even test you on this stuff, thus making it completely useless). chill guy. and yes he taught Howard Stern when he went to CGS.

Gives handouts with all of the information for exams. Lectures a little boring, but he's a pretty entertaining guy. Go to his office hours for help with papers, or just to talk and you're headed straight to an 'A.'

Has a grandfatherly sense of wisdom. He brings up interesting social issues or current events in class, but he also has a tendency to repeat the same material in multiple lectures. He's been teaching for decades and know's what's up with students.
