He saved my educational life! I had to quantitive analysis to complete my chemistry minor requirement. And it happened that Dr. Acree was teaching the course for the first time in the summer, and he makes me understand and learn. He only test you in what he has taught in class. So go to class and take notes. He doesn't use blackboard either. Great!

Only grades are tests but he does curve based on class average. Test are exact same as the reviews on his website with different numbers, symbols, etc. and from what I've seen have been the same format since 2013. If you struggle with chem read the book, if not you don't need it. Acree is a very distinguished prof. so 10/10 take if you can!

Professor Acree is a pretty good teacher. He assigns homework but it is only used in practice, he never picks it up. You don't need to read the textbook to pass the class as long as you go to his classes EVERY TIME. The only grades he has are exams and he gives a curve on those if the median score isn't a 75. He will go on tangents and repeat jokes

i hate chemistry but he made it interesting. he does not have powerpoint but does everything by pencil and paper. he cares about his students and engages a lot with the class. he holds reviews before every test and drops the lowest one of five! practice exams always given out are basically the same thing on the test.(ALSO ONLY 20 QUESTIONS)

Professor Acree is excellent and is genuinely passionate about chemistry. However, he does not give homework which is nice. However, this can later hurt you if you're not that good at Chem. There are five tests total that are multiple choice with 20 questions except for the fifth which is 40 multiple choice questions over all the material learned.

Dr. Acree is a wonderful professor. He teaches everything that you need to know in class and gives a practice exam. As long as you do the practice exam (and suggested homework if you need more help) and pay attention in lectures, you should be able to pass this class.

Amazing Professor! I strongly suggest you take his class if you can. I recommend going to recitation because that is where the practice problem are done which really helps on the test. He curve exams with a minimum of 5 points, maximum of 20 points depending on class average. You do not have to buy a book. Finished both of his classes with an A.

I love this man, he is an amazing professor and so knowledgeable. Attend ALL classes and recitations and do the practice problems he suggest. Listen and write down everything he says, although he uses chalkboard his teaching style is auditory. I read the book a lot to clarify things I did not understand during his lectures, so read before class!

Clear syllabus and expectations for the course. Test questions are straightforward, and he teaches everything you need to know and the exact methodology to acing his tests, as well as curving the tests by 5-15 pts every time. Make sure you attend class the lecture + recitation before the test, and you'll do just fine.

Professor Acree is really knowledgeable about chemistry and you can tell he is very passionate about it. I, personally, am not a fan of his style of teaching. He is a great professor but he is EXTREMELY lecture heavy and shows maybe one or two examples of what is being taught. If you are a very visual learner, I wouldn't recommend Acree.

He is a super nice guy and basically gives you all the answers in lecture. Sometimes his lectures can be a little confusing but you just have to be patient and stick it out to the end, because he usually wraps it all up and it makes complete since.

Acree is a really good professor. He gives clear lectures and answers any questions you have. Every test gets a 5 point curve. The recitations are the most crucial part of the class because this is where he goes over the practice exams (85% identical to the tests). Just attend class and the recitations and you'll be more than okay.

He give you practice exams that are similar to the test questions, and the final was about 60% questions that we had had before because he uses a test bank. Very good professor who uses class time wisely and does a TON of examples while also covering the conceptual side as well. Our grade was just 3 tests and the final. Easy A if you go to class.

Does not actually teach concepts, he just works example problems. He has mall illegible handwriting . You must attend office hours if you want to get your test grade. I would NOT recommend this course unless you already have a thorough understanding of chem1420.

Dr. Acree is a really good prof for Chem 1420. Exams are similar to the practice exam. He goes over the practice exam and hw questions during recitation. he curves the exam if the average is too low( curve every exam for my class). I strongly recommend this class.

Very good professor. The tests are similar to the practice exams. If you take his honors course he will make you write 2 easy essays. It is extremely easy to make an A in this class as long as you attend.

Acree Bakery is bae. Has AMAZING, clear-cut lectures that help you a lot. Tests are easy, VERY similar to review, just changes numbers. Very hard not to get an A. Has corny jokes but you kind of overlook it. Sometimes blind while writing, will say something but write something else since he memorizes his lectures. Almost NEVER used the textbook.

Super sweet. Lectures are boring. He teaches well but didn't pay attention. Si helped a lot. Tests are 20 questions multiple choice. Almost identical to reviews he gives. Expect random scientists questions that you never talked about in class. Besides those few questions tests are easy. He curves as well.
