Professor Blouch really didn't teach anything at all. You have to come to class prepared to review the homework and he just goes over it. Handouts for the answers of wiley are given but thats it. He just speaks and doesn't teach the formulas and numbers. Very Very Very hard test. I think 2 kids in my class passed 1 out of the 3 tests we took.

I have never taken a class so insanely difficult in my entire life. He tells you to "know the homework" for the exams and then the exams resemble something close to intermediate accounting. No one knows what's going on the entire semester except for the handful of accounting majors that know what they're doing. Doesn' curve so don't bother asking.

I just finished managerial accounting and can say without a doubt it was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. He tests you on comprehension of all the chapters on the exam so expect things you have never seen before the confuse you. Be prepared to study 20 plus hours to get a 65 as that was the class average for all 3 exams. Good Luck...

Required studying: maximum. Grading: super tough. Instructor reaches out and gives individual attention to ensure that you are doing well and offers advice. Found subject very useful and interesting even though I would have liked a better grade.

Switch professors or take a summer course if you can! I regretted it every day that I did not take managerial accounting in the summer. Loyola has a lousy accounting dpt., but Blouch is the absolute worst. Before he assigns tests, he brags about how poorly students do, then makes test grades over 70% of your grade.

Stone cold lock of the century â€" those who are complaining about the difficulty of this class did not do the homework. 10-20 HW questions/wk. He telegraphs what will be on the exams, AND gives you the option to use a 3x5 notecard cheat sheet. I’m amazed by how people can strive for an MBA, yet lack the dedication to actually do the work required.

Honestly, Blouch is not a bad teacher, and he wants all of his students to do well and find jobs. He just uses the book tests, which are really hard. There is no way any professor could make this class easy. Read the book, do the homework problems, and keep on top of your work if you want to do well-don't blame him.

A typical class period:Come into class on Tuesday and receive Homework Answer packet. Blouch reads the answers the first few on the sheet. Tells you about some dumb internship. Has never once taught a lesson. Just a projection of hw solutions on the board. Oh and the average on our classe's first exam was 53 and the second was 72. Final was huge

This is accounting, there's not much anyone can do to make this subject interesting. If you have a basic understanding of accounting before taking it and do the homework problems you should have no problem getting an A. The tests are very easy as long as you study the material he tells you. It's a dry class but not much you can do with the material

This course consists of an ugly boring man teaching awful material, followed by unnecessarily tough tests that are graded harshly. Stab yourself in the face with a pencil and burn $2K on your way to the hospital instead of taking this class. At least it?ll be quicker.

This class is by no means easy; however, if you do the homework (and there's a ton of it!) and use the study guide that goes with the texbook, you can get A's on the exams. Assigns a lot of homework but gives you the answers. Discusses main topics in book and goes over some hw problems. You can use a 3x5 card for the exams. Put the important information on there with a couple examples, and actually study a little bit, and you can get an A on the exams. Grades are based on midterm and final. Not a terribly hard class.
