Probably one of the best professors I have ever taken. If you need help, do not hesitate to go to his office hours, as long as you show him work he will help you. He made me look at history in a different way and genuinely just appreciate it more. There are quizzes every week but if you do the reading you will be fine.

Professor Carrigan is really nice, but his class was very difficult for me. He required a LOT of reading outside of class and it was expected to understand and memorize most of it. It was the type of work that would only be achievable if you were in one class. He was a great guy but I personally would not recommend due to workload.

really nice guy if look for help he does not deny you of it. One important thing to know is that he expects a lot of you so dont slack off or think just becuase hes a nice guy things are gonna smooth. Lots of reading too. He did also let me do side assignments to make up for poor quiz grades.

He's a great guy, and his class is great. He is just a REALLY. TOUGH. GRADER. In my opinion, he expects a little much from college freshmen. His assigned readings, some aren't too bad, but some are REALLY hard. You need to be able to read, analyze, and REALLY understand the material. If you can handle that, take his class, but it's NOT easy AT ALL.

Carrigan is one of the nicest men I've ever met but he requires a lot. Lots of readings and an abstract based on the readings practically every day. Tests are hard but he grades on a curve. He also talks very fast and his tests are based on his lectures. He gives make up assignments if you miss class but missing class can harm your grade.

Overall a great professor! I learned a lot from his class, and his lectures are incredibly intriguing. However, be prepared to read and work hard for a good grade. He expects a lot from you, however if anything he makes you become a better writer and a harder worker.

one of the best teachers for History. His class is in no way was easy, but its an upper level. A lot of reading, but if you try he knows it. A lot of quizzes but they're helpful for the final. If you have to take a upper level take this class.

If you have Dr. Carrigan for a lower-level history class (i.e. US History), then you're probably in CLIO and a freshman History Major. Watch out, because he really pushes you and expects a lot from you. But the class is fascinating and the enthusiasm and interest of his lectures are nearly unmatched by any other professor.

By far the best experience I had in this class, his makes you want to attend the class. Be sure to do the work that he assigns and always read. He'll give you a good amount of time to prepare for upcoming tests, and if you have any problems he has a few minutes to stay back and help you out.

Had him also for history of NJ. Easily the best history professor at Rowan. You have to read the books he assigns in order to pass the quizzes. Overall makes a 2 1/2 hour class on a friday morning very enjoyable.

Teaches you things you didn't know before about US History, but a lot of reading, it's a reading intensive course. He is very funny, too, especially when he's explaining things and his voice starts to get high pitched. He didn't cry over George Washington in my class, but it's easy to tell he admires him. Extremely hard to get an A but easy to pass

He was a decent fair guy, but gave a lot of work. Most of the time when I left his class I felt like punching a wall out of frustration. He was not very into the class this semester. I think he was writing a book. Lectures were pointless if he gave them. He is organized and pretty consistent though which is a plus. Not very helpful though

Seriously one of the best teachers I have ever had on any level. Really, really engaging and really knows his stuff. He makes US history so much more interesting than anyone else I've ever had. A lot of reading, but his quizzes and exams aren't that hard.

Anyone who dislikes a Carrigan course needs to be removed from the process known as "life". His classes are neither hard nor easy. His courses are are up to the student's aptitude. If you put in the time to do readings and write coherently you will get a good grade.

Great professor! Very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. He likes to focus on important, but little-known or appreciated aspects of history, so you'll learn a lot, even if you think you already knew everything about the subject.
