Comment:

Probably the best professor I had at Dutchess. I took a number of his classes and was happy to get him. Prof. Harwood makes it very clear what is expected. I don't really understand what some of these "students" are complaining about. His tests are not hard, they are exactly what he says they will be, based on his lectures and the textbook.

I'm surprised by some of the comments about Professor Harwood. Maybe some of the negative things are from students who still think that they are in high school. He is very knowledgeable and teaches at an adult level. I got mostly 95s and 100s on the quizzes because they are right out of the textbook and this is his way of getting us to read.

Easily one of the worst professor's I've ever had at Dutchess. His lectures were interesting but his tests and quizzes completely take away from that. You must read the chapters THOROUGHLY in order to pass! His tests are EXTREMELY difficult. It's almost like he wants you to fail. Everything is based on in class lectures, don't show, won't pass.

The three exams are extremely hard, the quizzes are easy to pass if you read chapters. READ READ READ!!!! If not your going to fail. Don't miss class if you do your going to fail. No extra credit to boost your grade. If you fail one exam your soon to fail the course. Only Bus Law teacher so it sucks. However his business law jokes are funny.

I find the lectures to be very interesting and I never feel bored in his class. He knows the subject and always says if you need any help to come visit him in his office hours. To pass the tests you need to take good notes and to pass the quizzes you have to read the chapters on your own time. Overall it's my favorite class of the semester.

I think that Professor Harwood is a very good teacher and I wish that more teachers at DCC were like him. He gives a very good course outline that covers everything. There are quizzes given in the class that got me to read the book. If you do the reading they are really easy. He gave us three tests that were really not bad. You'll learn a lot.

Absolute worst teacher at Dutchess. He does not take the time out to help his students. His tests are very difficult and there are not a lot of assignments, only 3 tests and a final. So if you fail one test you will most likely fail the entire class. He will not review before a test. DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! try to not take his class

There's 3 tests and all together they are worth 60% of your grade. So if do bad on one you've pretty much ruined your grade for the course. There's a quiz about every week and A LOT of reading! There is so much material that its hard to do well on the tests.... Definitely pick a different teacher

Hands down the worst teacher I have ever had. Dutchess really screwed up when they made him the only prof for this class because they set you up to fail. He makes the classroom environment uncomfortable to the point where raising your hand is out of the question. I could go on for days about the hatred I have for this man but I'll keep it short.

So power hungry it hurts. Tests are excessively unfair being that you can study for hours consisting of rewriting all class notes and making flash cards etc and will still receive on your first test a 62 like me which was highest grade in class... Also his quizzes are barely on content more so they try to excessively trick you. Overall terrible

Only grades you have are 3 test which are worth 20% each and weekly quizzes. The quizzes are based of the chapter in the text. The chapters are very long and be prepared to read them over and over and over to get around an 80. Test are super tough and questions are broadconfusing. Very good teacher but hard test giver.

The tests are very tricky. Even if you study every word he says in class it's hard to pass. There's always a right answer and a "wow that could be right answer" on the test. Definitely difficult. First class I ever failed or came close to failing.

I enjoyed his class. For his classes, you get out what you put in. If you study and engage in the classroom you'll do fine. For my BUS 215 he didn't give a single hw assignment at all except to read the chapters so you'll be prepared for quizzes and tests. I studied and payed attention in class and i got a good grade. Students respect his classes.

Hard Professor. Tests are hard even if you take notes on every single word coming out of his mouth. He expects you to know every single word from the book. He is nice but do not forget to take lots and lots of notes.
