Comment:

You definitely have to read to follow the lecture and are expected to be knowledgeable about the text. It was a great class and I learned a lot. Some of the papers were difficult because while topics were relevant, it was very difficult to find acceptable sources. I'd definitely take Dr. Hunter again.

He really makes you work for a good grade. I put most of my studying time into this class compared to all my other classes because we get a new assignment every time the class meets. He is a really tough grader. I recommend going to his office hours before turning in your first essay to fully understand what he wants from the paper.

Dr Hunter is I guess a nice guy, kinda sarcastic and slightly egotistical. He grades you on participation and attendance so do both! Only 4 essays. Easy topics that we can choose BUT he is brutal when it comes to grading essays, hes a grammar freak. He also makes you do grammar assignments that he also grades harshly.

Hunter is very knowledgeable about his areas of expertise, and if you're interested in the material, you'll have fun. If you're just taking the class for credit, you're going to get annoyed eventually. He can be condescending and dismissive, but seems mostly like a decent guy. If you're just trying to get through the class, I'd look elsewhere.

Dr. Hunter is a very good professor and I learned a lot from his class. You get to write about what you want, but he is very tough on grammatical errors. If you need help he is available, or you can go to the writing center. Participation and attendance matters. Take advantage of his bonus opportunity (attend a campus event). No final, enjoyed it.

William Hunter is a great professor. He is very funny and usually lets you out of class early. If you go see him during office hours and proof-read your paper you will do fine. Very tough on grammar.

Dr. Hunter is a fantastic teacher. I learned very much from him. English can be boring and he made it enjoyable. You write a lot! Best part is I was able to write about basically anything I wanted. (Most of my papers were about sports) He's tough on grammar, but I definitely recommend! All papers are around 2-4 pages.

Dr. Hunter is an acquired taste. I'm very good at English, always have been, so the classes (101 & 102)were easy for me. He's always clear on what he wants and will always answer your questions if you ask during or after class. He's super strict on grammar, so if you're not good at that, don't take him. Generally though, I absolutely recommend him

Dr. Hunter is a particularly hard grader, but he is an excellent professor. I have had him for multiple classes and would take him again in a heartbeat. He makes you work for your grade, but you will get a lot of his class. Overall, you should take him if you want to learn a lot but you should avoid him if you're looking for an easy grade.

I took him for English 101 which was supposed to be super easy... Since his class i've made deans list twice. He graded my papers harshly, took 10 percent off my grade because I was shy and didn't want to speak out. I WOULD NEVER take him again... I ended up with a D+ which now is keeping me here longer than I need to be.

This professor preaches that you need good grammar, however he doesn't teach what good grammar is. He knocks off 3 points every absence, and expects you to communicate in his class. If you don't participate and askmake comments in class say goodbye to 10% of your grade immediately. This semester consists of two papers a 6 page and 10 good luck!

This was an all paper class, which I knew going in. The topics were boring. He said he hated online classes, yet he taught one. He never posted corrected grammar assignments. His feedback on papers was useless. "Work on your grammar" but he never provided examples. Will never take this professor again.

Dr. Hunter, although he is a good guy to talk to, is not a good professor. He is unclear with his assignments, grades everything too harshly, and is boring beyond belief. In my 102 class, we spent more then a quarter of a semester on nothing but adult films and censorship. His material is useless, and I learned nothing in his class.(my GPA is 4.0)

Great man and great prof. I really enjoyed his class. He spent time going over assignments, although some weren't as clear as they could be. We did activities in his class such as creating skits and peer editing papers. Highly recommended teacher!! Take his class!!!

Loved this class!!! It may have just been my interest in Harry Potter, though. He was clear on what he wanted in papers. Although I have heard he's really tough on grading in the higher up English classes I really liked him and he made our lessons interesting.

Dr. Hunter is a terrible teacher. He may know the information but he gives incomplete information. He has no idea how to grade anything--his classes are out of 100 points so every point you miss is an entire percentage point and he rarely gives half points. He does not seem to know what he is doing.
