I am only writing this because I see the negative feedback for Dr. Jarvis. He gets off topic every class but he knows his stuff and really cares about his students. I have known him since 2013 when I first took a class with him and he has always been so nice to me. He is a great person. I just took another class with him last semester.

I'm sitting in his organic lab at this very moment and we've been sitting here for an hour and a half while he blabbers on about absolutely nothing. This is my way of showing my defiance. All he does it talk about irrelevant stories and is always off topic.

Very good at explaining the material the first time around, but struggles to explain in different terms. If you do the homework, memorize the mechanisms, and just pay attention in class you'll do very well. Not a lot of extra work needed. DO the practice rxns he hands out. 50% of his tests are based off it. Also has good stories.

Very smart, willing to work with every student even if it means individual office hours for each person. Just ask for help if you don't understand (think about your question though, make sure it's worded correctly or he'll bust you for it, lol)

Verbacious, yet intriguing. :) Good man. Will elaborate as much as possible, with many different examples as needed (Remember, on-the-spot chemistry explanations can be a bit 'out-there'. Everyone thinks differently, so he tries to adapt for each student.) DO THE TAKE HOME PRACTICE QUIZZES! VERY HELPFUL My favorite professor of all time hands down.

Not the best lecturer. Goes off on tangents often. HOWEVER, an excellent teacher overall. He provides all of the necessary resources in order for students to succeed. Those rxn sheets he hands out for each unit are very useful.

This is the worst teacher I have ever had. I didn't think it was possible to be that bad of a teacher! I don't know what he likes to talk about more... beer or chocolate covered ants! He is very weird and I learned abosolutely nothing about chemistry. I tried to pay attention in this course but it was impossible with all of his useless stories!!

Bring beer and pretzels to Bill's class. Ask him about keggers and crazy college stunts. But be sure to be able to relate them all to chemistry. Beer's Law.... the deeper the glass, the darker the brew, the less of the incident light that gets through.
