I am really interested in politics, it's my major, but he honestly made the class a confusing! You had to read the textbook and do the chapter questions then walk into class and take a quiz. If you were stuck, to bad. Also he was not interactive. Didn't have discussions or lecture notes. I am a visual learner so his style was hard for me to learn.

He gave great explanations for questions. Expectations for the class, long study guides (although very helpful), be sure to do well on quizzes and study for midterm and final. He does study guide checks in groups so you can tell when you will be called up. Answers questions all class period from study guides or gives additional info from exams.

McGuire definitely knows his stuff. He really helped me expand my political knowledge and thought. However, if you do not have a strong interest in the content, you might want to take a different teacher, as Bill can go off on tangents that would be boring if you aren't interested. If you are interested in politics/law then McGuire is great.

He's a very nice and quiet guy, you need to listen very closely to everything he's saying. He has too many quizzes and a chapter guide for each chapter. The tests were difficult, but this professor doesn't have debates, unlike other political classes.

This guy knows absolutely everything, he gives quizzes almost on every chapter and gives out study guides for them. He never asks anything that isn't on the study guide but sometimes they can be really long. He's a tad slow on putting up grades but hes pretty good. He has lots of office hours so he's easy to talk to and he's a fun guy.

Prof. McGuire is well informed on the subject, and has been teaching politics for over 30 years, and it shows. He is quite left-wing, which I didn't mind, but others may. He is a very nice and open guy. Perhaps the most irritating part of class is watching him struggle with the "clicker" which he uses to collect quiz answers. It freezes constantly.

Not a very interesting teacher and gives a lot of quizzes. I wouldn't miss any classes and make sure you study, because I found his tests to be pretty challenging. At the same time, you will learn a lot if you put forth the effort.

He's a solid teacher. Smart and funny. The class work is annoying though. Bunch of reading of boring**** and then you have to take a bunch of quizzes. He's very flexible though, if you're struggling just talk to him and he'll set you up with a deal to make sure you pass the class.

Mr. McGuire is a smart, informed man. His class is great. Lectures are interesting and only for your benefit. Test questions are all from the book, so you have to read. The class is all I could want in a Political Science class.

Professor McGuire is well informed, articulate, easy to listen to, and very easy on grading. I have an interest in politics, but it seems that even the people in class who don't still pay good attention. He has a bias that shows, but if you lean left you'll love his class. Great professor!

Like everyone else said, he's a super nice teacher. He's very flexible with assignments. If you didn't study for a quiz you can always take it another day. Quizzes are hard but sometimes you'll do just fine if you didn't read the chapter as long as you listen in class. Definitely recommend this class, and I'm not even a politics kind of person.

Do NOT take this class if you don't understand politics already. The quizzes are hard and you have to read 50+ pages every three days... Seriously, he's a very nice guy, but if you don't know Politics prior to joining the class, you are in trouble in this class. Just a word to the wise.

Bill is a POLY SCI teacher, but I had him for Microeconomics. He gets that not everyone there is going into the business world. All I do is show up to class, pay attention and I get 9 or 10 out of 10 on his daily quizzes. He also goes off on slight tangents, which I like. Some students (18/19yrs old=don't know better) don't like his tangents.

Don't take if you're going to be lazy and just need the general credit. He has been teaching a long time and knows the material % 110 It's going to be hard if you hate or don't even care about politics/current affairs. If you do, he's will state his opinion but won't push it or preach. Very open, funny, helpful. A 10 pt quiz almost every day.

He was pretty funny, probably would've liked a different class taught by him. Quizzes were often confusing, multiple choices with tricky answers. He would swear every once and while which was just funny, nice guy.

McGuire is great. He is very approachable, loves those who come in for help. He goes over every chapter to make sure that you get a decent grade in the quizzes. His grading system is a little confusing but you will understand it at the end of the semester. Overall he is great.
