Comment:

ECON1160 with this professor was very difficult. Basically every quiz and test is comprised simply of true and false questions. There are handouts that tell you what you need to know for each quiz and test, but the quizzes and tests were still very hard. If you have to take this class with this professor, make sure you go to tutoring (its free!)

Do NOT take this professor! I wish I've read all these awful reviews before taking his class. I wish :( Everything you read here in these reviews is 100% true. He is just NOT a good professor. He talks for 3 hours non-stop,hard to follow him. Tough grader. Lectures hard to understand. I DO NOT recommend him and would never choose him again!

Comment:

He gets off topic way too much. Full 3 hours no breaks. Will not help you out and doesn't use a textbook but a study guide he wrote. I would never recommend this class to anyone with him as your professor. He's very opinionated and if you skip class you will fail. Very monotone and his lectures will make you bored and want to leave. Avoid him.

Somtimes I wondered if I was in Econ or Politics. Spends too much time expressing his political views. I'm no Trump supporter but I admit by the end of the course I was getting tired of his anti Donald Trump lectures. Makes you buy his book (not even the required book, just one he wrote) as a rental so you can't sell it back later.

Comment:

Bring a pillow because once u get in there, its going to be a long 3 hour ride. No breaks, very knowledgable but gets off topic. You take notes and read off a book that the professor made himself. So you have all the notes and dont need to come to class. Would rather eat a tide pod then go back.

The good: I know have a mutual fund and personal IRA. Very informative and extremely knowledgeable. The bad: straight lecture, no breaks. Doesn't use the real text, just a partial guide he published himself. Grades based on 8 quizzes and 3 big tests. Attendance is a game changer, don't ever skip. Be very good at memorizing! I'm so shocked I passed!

I am 100 percent sure if I took this class with anyone other than dr. Metz as the professor I would've done okay in the class. This professor was like talking to a brick wall that didn't want to help. Every class was 3 hours straight of aimless rambling that oughta make anybody's head hurt. Everything was self taught. Would never recommend.

Covers material ahead of quizzes and exams. No homework ever. Doesnt stop talking except to breathe. Uses a textbook he wrote. Dont suggest taking his class.

Terrible, Just terrible. This professor get in the class and non-stop lectures until class ends. Don't even ask any students any question or anything. I do no recommended him at all. If you don't believe me just go to his class one day. You will remember me after the class I bet.

Expect no breaks if you take him for a 3 hour course. On exam days bring your book because after the exam he lectures until the end of class. Hard to follow his notes. Not a fun class all lecture, no homework, so grade is based just on quizzes and exams.

Makes you buy a textbook that he made, lectures off of that. Clear quiz questions from handout. Tests directly from quiz questions, mostly the exact same questions. Hard to focus, kind of boring class but it could be the subject for me.

I attended every single class, sat in the front, took notes, asked questions, and still had to withdraw from this class. I would ask Professor Metz to repeat himself, and he accused me of not paying attention. When I would go talk to him after class for clarification, he told me that he would not help me. The worst professor ever.

He doesn't explain anything and talks too fast. He barely stops his lecture. He assumes that everyone in his class is taking it because they have to. The joke of a textbook is literally his scrambled notes that someone printed and bound - he and Macomb are ripping students off like this. The "book" is to take notes, it does not explain anything.

So, start off with lecture.. well great !!! He talks out of topics and has no eye contact with students but the air in his classroom .. I liked him for a moment but then comes to the grading ... he graded me wrong for what is correct ,.. I just don't know what to do and what to say.. I believe others got the same problem as I do as well..
