This was by far not an easy class. However after my first bad grade I went to speak with Professor Wallace and he was very helpful. He is very knowledgeable about what he teaches and very passionate about teaching the material.He definately knows his stuff. He is old school and holds his students to a high standard of learning. Great class!!

Everyone who complains needs to understand that Dr. Wallace wants his students to learn. If you do not want to learn and are a slacker who justs cares about a grade then take natural disasters. He appears gruff, like an old seaman, but is quite genuine and caring.

His name is William Wallace (remember Braveheart), so expect a way off-kilter way of learning. As long as you maintain an interest in the class intead of crying yourself to sleep because you just want it out of your way in your major, you should be fine. You MUST get to know him though. Once you do, it comes together.

I needed 2 units to graduate and took this yahoo's course. He told us the he was "tenure, close to God" when we complained about him. We went to the dean and nothing happened. We did not get a syllabus for weeks, we had three text books to read, he told us to shut up, and he was not helpful in office hours. At best he's a monster! A poor educator at least!

This class was hard. He seems really rough but if you talk with him during office hours and get to know him he is fine. That said, there is a ton of reading, know the facts dead, and if you miss a class it will cost you. Bottom line, if you don't show him you really care, you're dogmeat! Good luck!

WORST COURSE...EVER! The readings are beyond absurd in how bulky they are. We were required to purchase and read 7 book and were given enormous stacks of handouts. Most of them had no bearing on the class, but you had to find that out for yourself. The tests were conceptual in nature and made me want to commit violent acts on the nearest person.

He seems like a tough guy but he's really very sweet. Just go to his reviews, talk to him and take any extra credit he provides. It will seem like you're failing, but in the end, you'll be fine.

Dont do it! Out of touch with reality, unorganized, boring as a post and self absorbed. The class was 2.5 hours- he lectured overtime EVERY night. There was no sylabus, no grading criteria. He assigned 10 books over the semester and added 20 handouts! When asked what reading to focus on for the final, he said "focus on everything" PURE HELL!!!

DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR 320!!!! I dont care if it takes you an extra semester to graduate...dont do it! The Las Vegas comment is right on. His test do NOT reflect lecture or the book. I am a 3.6 biology major who has done extensive MARINE biology research and I am failing his class right now. HORRRIBLE!

i dropped this class at the deadline, this guy is a TOTAL BLOWHARD, he's like a cranky old sea captain or something, LOVES to hear himself talk and says stuff like, "LEARN TABLE 3.3 for the EXAM" and "you don't know now, but you'll KNOW BY THE END OF CLASS!" all i can say is, good luck everybody.
