He definately gets you ready for the tests. The problem is that he goes over needlessly complicated examples during class, sometimes taking the entire class period. So I rarely followed what he was doing. However, when the test comes around the problems are very straight forward, so they were pretty easy.

Comment:

One of the better professors at CSUN. He was really clear in explaining complicated material, and his office was open after class and during his office hours. He was really nice, too! I definitely would recommend him! Its too bad this is his last year teaching.

Very slow proffessor. Takes him about an hour to go over one problem. His hand always shakes so it's difficult to understand his hand writing. But he does know the material and will help you if you don't understand something.

Downing is the kind of teacher in which you don't realize how much you've learned until the course is coming to the end. He is competent not only at engineering itself but, more importantly, at _teaching_ engineering. Very approachable, and a genuinely nice guy.

Very easy ... yet very boring and very slow. It takes him 20 mins to walk from his desk to your lab station. There were many times when i fell asleep in the LAB!! Very easy though .. he doesnt make u work as much as the other proffs.
