Your grade in his class relies pretty significantly on participation yet he gives you no opportunity to participate because the class is not discussion based, it's strictly lecture. His grading method is almost entirely arbitrary, which makes it difficult for the student to ensure that he is giving you a fair grade.

Professor is a nice guy, but try not to miss any day of class. The only way to do well in this class is to take notes on everything he says because he will lecture every class mostly with with a PowerPoint of important people, terms and dates. The Powerpoints are useless if you don't take notes. His essays are vague with little feedback. Goodluck

I've had him for over half the semester already. He is passionate about the subject and always goes over material at least twice! Doesn't give much outline for essays but I got an A and the midterm is easy. If you study you will pass with a good grade. He is a good teacher, if you take him you will not regret it!! No textbook, just 2 books to read.

Dr. M's lectures could be a bit boring for those students not interested in medieval studies, but I found him to be funny, quirky, and extremely passionate. If you have to take a medieval class at Fordham, check him out! No textbook, little note taking (he hands out powerpoints), and easy tests. No more than ten pages of writing, either!

who gave him a "hott" tamale? Why??? He is a terrible teacher. Probably the worst I have had at college AND he is the undergraduate chair. Well at least his class was amusing and he is very approachable. Other than that, though, he was the worst teacher and it was the worst class I've ever taken.

you will hate him. my lowest grade in that class was a B-, and thats what he gave me for a final grade. does not deserve his teaching degree. thinks he's always right no matter what you say. office hours didn't help at all. my friend got all As in his class, and wound up with a B+...i think that explains it all

Can make the most interesting of topics extremely boring. Taking notes in his class is beyond useless. Does not discuss clearly what he expects of wants from papers. Gives out review sheet for midterm and final on material he did not teach nor is in the books he assigned. Generally a horribel boring experience and I'm a history major

unless you absolutely love medieval history, dont take this guy. His notes are absolutely useless and the only good notes you can take are writing down word-for-word the fragments of ideas he says outload. Only 2 papers, midterm, and final...but he grades tough, and you definitely have to share HIS opinion...not your own

I had him for Honors Medieval History, and can't say it was a pleasant experience. He's one of those history profs where you have to voice HIS opinion to get a good grade, which we figured out eventually. Boring classes, impossible to take fluid notes. Very unclear on paper assignments, but prepared us well for exams at least. Wouldn't recommend.

Mueller thinks he's such a funny little German man, but he really isn't. I'm an A student and I could not get an A if my life depended on it. He refuses to grade sympathetically at all, even though the test questions are given out beforehand. The papers are so vague and he just goes over the same thing each class so really you just use the book.

Class is not that bad, he can be entertaining at times, but his lectures dont always coordinate with his powerpoint notes, which makes notetaking a chore. His paper topics are pretty vague as well... I have no clue what the hell historical causation means anymore, too. Tests, however, are great... he gives the exam to you a week before the test!

gives general, outline notes in powerpoint; would be useful except he lectures as well, leading to messy notes and arrows all over the page to elaborations; does not hold attention during lecture; not helpful in assessing papers/study guides prior to due date/exams; focus on "historical causation"; definitely not my favorite class

May have been a good teacher at some point but not anymore. Forget about office hours, unless you like to wait around for an hour while he talks to someone else about italian soccer...The grades don't make any sense at all - oh and we got through about 1/3 of his syllabus.
