HARD AS HELL!!! unless your a nerd and all you do is study. even when i studied for 3 hours i would still fail his tests. His teaching is poor and his test are almost impossible to ace. DONT TAKE HIM unless you want a challenge. He is funny at times and makes you laugh but his teaching is useless.

DO NOT EVER TAKE HIM!!!! EXTREMELY UNCLEAR AND VERY HARD. Very interested in history but seems to hate his job and teaching, low tolerance and patience, and VERY BORING! Try not to fall asleep. His papers and tests are hard, take some one else if possible.

Dr. Yakes maybe one of the hardest teachers, I have ever had in my life and as a freshman, it was extremely hard to take his class. He is extremely intelligent and has a lot of facts stored in his head. He hardly ever uses the book and hardly ever asked my class questions, all he did was lecture. Be prepared to take LOTS of NOTES, Study Them Too

Yakes needs to retire. He is semi-crazy and his lectures are boring and at times crazy. He swears a lot and bangs on the desk. Lectures are unclear and tests are hard (the essay part). He often goes off on psychotic rants.

He is an EXTREMELY intelligent man, and expects a lot from his students. TAKE NOTES! Tests are mostly from lectures, little from book, and little from articles. Lots of critique papers to write. Moves through information too quickly.

Funny guy but accasionally moody . Very intelligent. Take Notes! Tests are tough, but he supplies study guides. 3-1500 word critical reviews of chosen novels expected. Recommended for those who want to learn.

i actually liked him. He bent alot for our class, he is funny to watch, he offers extra credit, he gives take home quizes, he gives study guides for his tests, he is smart, and can be tough but take notes and skim chapters and you'll be fine

Absolutely horrible teacher. Stay as far away from him as possible. He thinks he is better than everyone else. He grades tests and papers very hard... and the corny sexual jokes he makes are just way too much.
