He is incredibly unorganized and the class, unstructured. The first assignment is 10% and you have 6-7 weeks. The other 2 are much harder, worth 20% each and you have 2 weeks/ 1 week. His tests also suck and he grading criteria is very random. Worst cse class ever. This class is 90% sql / database so only take it if you're already familia with it

Yannis is a great Professor. His class presentations have amazing content and are explained well. He provides extensive notes and sample questions to build ones skill and knowledge on each topic taught in class. I'm glad I took his class and would recommend others to take it classes as well.

Class, presentation, and discussion were very interesting. Hard to understand his accent though. Sometimes he liked to word stuff in a confusing way but because it's a seminar it was easy. No homework what so ever. I recommend taking this class if you like the topic.

Lectures almost useless except for picking up handouts. The project is easy until you hit the Struts and Ajax parts, then it's just brutal. The final was basically coding for 3 hours, but it was open book and I took the final cold and got an A- in the class.

Wow. I did the whole project by myself and let's just say this: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO SO. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO SO. DO NOT ATTEMPT. DO NOT. I spent > 40+ hours per week, came in with absolutely NO knowledge about webapps/database programming. I suffered. Terribly. Although I am fairly I got an A and I learned a lot, all my other classes suffered.

Granted, I had some database/html experience coming in, so I found the class rather easy. But his lectures are of almost no help. It takes a lot of effort to pay attention and understand his accent. And unless you like doing all the work yourself, find a good partner for the project; they'll be with you the entire class.

Web apps is VERY interesting topic. However, He can be good prof for this class. First, you need to finish everything in last 4 weeks. it too much work. Second, grading is unclear. We can not guess grade until grade is on the academic history. If you are really good at web app, we would be fine. If you think average, then you might get lower grade

Take Rhodes instead - I heard he was good. Yannis is a nice guy, but not very clear when he's teaching. And Shashka is SCARY. WORST TA EVAR. Give her the boot!

Can't understand/hear him, don't want to sit up front because he might spit. Teaching is NOT something he should do.

He knows the stuffs that he is teaching but it is very hard to understand what he is saying. You have to spend a lot of time reading the textbook and visiting TA office hours. If you have Sashka as your TA, I strongly suggest you to go to other TAs' sections. She never allows students finishe their questions and she just shuts students off.

"This guy speaks very quietly. Can't hear anything the guy says! He doesn't care about his students as much as other professors. His tests are very harsh and the grading scheme is so strict you have to learn how to take his particular exams. If you have Sashka as your TA... RUN!!" I second this.

Web apps. Very interesting topic but he may not be the professor you want to take it with. He is very hard to understand. If you take him, sit in front. He definitely knows what he's doing but his accent makes him hard to understand. 3 big projects (graded by demo) and a final

He is a good teacher and very helpful. His grading scale favors the final/midterms you perform the best at. Six homeworks, drop 1.
