Yolina was a good teacher all around. She was able to communicate really well and was helpful. I believe there was a textbook but I never read the textbook but instead studied her slides carefully. Her final is harder than her midterms. I recommend taking this class with her.

Denchev is a nice teacher and helps you understand any concepts you need help with, but her lectures are the basics of the chapter as you can not rely on her notes and lectures to pass. You have to teach yourself the course basically through myeconlab and the textbook...

Lectures were fun to read, and it is definitely easy to get an A if you do some reviews before tests and quizzes. Attending lecture is not necessary but read through PPT provided is essential. Great GPA booster.

Slides literally straight from company of textbook, Practice problems are same as quizzes, so you literally couldn't do less work for teaching a class. Office hours more useless than the course. Marking is all kinds of f'd up, you really have to do much, much more to get an A or B than necessary. Take the class if you want, skip it if you can.

Super legit. Gives you study guides before every exam, as long as you learn those you'll get an awesome grade. She's super nice, funny, and helpful. Awesome prof, definitely one of my favourites.

Econ 306 with Yolina is a definite grade booster. The content is easy to learn and she teaches it step by step. She offers tons of office hours leading up to exams and will help you with any questions. Attending class may be boring, but it makes understanding most concepts way easier.

Incredibly easy course! Unless English is not your first language and you don't attend any lectures, it is impossible to not get a good mark in this class. She provides outlines to study from for midterm and final which essentially tell you what to study. If your looking for a guaranteed grade booster take this class !

Very dull teacher, not a hard course but she expects you to know details instead of broader ideas it seems which can make it frustrating. Time consuming because you'll have to read pretty much the whole textbook. Short answer questions are im a True False or uncertain format which can make them vague and confusing. Take with Fanham if you can.

Nice prof but pretty useless at teaching. TA had no idea what she was doing, if she didn't understand your answer she just didn't mark it. Easy content for a 3rd year econ class but prof and TA made it unnecessarily ridiculous.

Yes, your GPA will be boosted with this course. However, she will absolutely destroy your interest in development economics. She dumbs down the class to the point of absurdity. The course is actually designed for high school students. No material of substance is presented. Yolina does not show any interest in either you or the material. Shameful.

The material is infanantly fascinating. And thus it is almost hard to fathom how she could present it in such a dry and uninteresting manner. This, I would say, is one of those classes that one should only take if they enjoy regergitation. With that said, it is also quite easy and, as mentioned, the material--meaning the text--is quite interesting.

Worst prof ever. She teaches a late class from 6:30 - 9:30. 10 minutes late for each class and ends class before 8:30. Waste of money. Don't ever take her as a prof....ever. It's a pity that they use her for Economic Development because it's such an interesting topic but she kills it.
