Comment:
I took Lin for Human Bio and the man could not have dumbed down the material any more than he did. He made everything so simple, yet people still complained it was hard. If you go to class and study for the tests, it's a very fair course. He has a small accent, but he's very understandable and such a nice guy.

Yue Lin is a good teacher. He knows English well and rarely makes mistakes. MAKE SURE you go to EVERY CLASS. He covers a lot of stuff. Most of his tests are from class notes. If you are taking him in the summer make sure you have extra time on Thurs after his class. His classes are an hour longer on Thurs just so that he can cover the material.

Hard course, but Dr. Lin is a good professor. Really wants you to learn and understand the concepts. The topics are very hard and you have to go to class. His tests are somewhat hard. 3 tests plus your lab grade is your final grade. Curves very little (~4-5 points)

He's a fair professor, all his exams are based on lecture notes. He'll curve your grade if you show you care about the class and show effort. Really gotta just go to class and take really good lecture notes and study them. Textbook is only used for diagrams so it'll be best to get the pdf version. All in all mad fair professor.

Dr. Lin is a down to earth, calm and smart fellow. He's detailed and poignant and never condescending. That being said his exams are murder. He covers a lot and he will go fast. It is a difficult class but if you put decent amount of work you'll do fine. He was one of my favorite professors and I made me have an interest in Genetics.

Super Awsome Class! Dr. Lin was a really great professor. Don't bother to get the book, just write down what he says and really try to understand the comments before you go into the exams and it's a piece of cake. He really tells you everything you need to know in a simple way.

He is very difficult! I would not take him if you cannot handle a really really tough class. Most of the class does bad, and he is unconcerned. Very difficult - Stay away from this. However, it is worth noting that you learn a lot and it is stuff for the MCAT's so......bad grade now, good MCAT score later? I feel that way

This professor is hard to understand because of his accent and bad penmanship. I have gone to every class and still didn't successfully pass his TWO midterms. I studied from my good notes and from the textbook and nothing worked. Try to find another professor. He teaches too much for one class session.

Dr. Lin is a very knowledgeable and helpful professor. The class is difficult! But if you go to class, take notes, and do your part, Dr. Lin will realize that and help you out at the end. The first two exams are all problem- solving but the final was all concepts--and they were quite difficult! So study hard and go to class.

Lin repeats the important points five times in his lecture, and gives you a review two classes before the exams. Just pay attention in class -- sometimes he'll slip a question on the test about something you might not have thought was that important. You DO learn to catch on to what those points might be, though!

Nice guy but the tests are evil! A lot of problems but not the ones that we do in class, you need to get the solutions manual for the problems in textbook, without it you'll fail the first 2 tests, Joby- lab TA is so unhelpful, rude, lazy, and the worst grader ever, textbook doesn't really help, you need to memorize the notes... BAD EXPERIENCE!

lin is an okay teacher and he does know his stuff. His accent does not really in the way when he teaches u. just take notes and read the chapters again. he does review and he does help you only if you go to him. I really hate biology but he made it really funny. sit in the front and listen to him. he knows what he is doing.

Professor Lin is very sweet, he is actually a very easy teacher. The topic is what is hard.Genetics isn't an easy class. And he explains everything as simple as possible. Our exams are straight from our lecture notes, not necessary to use the text. If your honestly willing to put some effort, you will do well. He has no accent. he's good.

He is a terrible Bio prof. His curve is nightmare: he curves everyone differently! The tests are ridiculous hard. And he is bs. There are some students came to his office to ask to retake the test b/c their grades r so poor and he agreed. The others which had bad grad but didnt ask didnt have a chance to retake it. Unfair!

He is a good professor, always there on time, repeats himself to make sure you understand. But his exams are SO HARD!! You have to take good notes AND read the book, otherwise you'll fail. Other than that, he is ok. He does have an accent but it is not too hard to understand.

He's a really nice man...not the easiest guy to understand though because of his accent. His exams are slightly harder because he doesn't narrow down exactly what it is he wants you to know. If you study a good amount beofre the exams you should be ok though. p.s. DON'T try to study for the midterm or final the night before - you'll be screwed lol.
