Comment:

I took ECON3665 and 4665 with him and they were two of the hardest courses I've ever taken. He is a brilliant guy and if you can follow his lectures you should be fine, but if you fall behind or don't understand something you're screwed. He makes you feel dumb if you have a question. I ended up dropping ECON4665 because it was so hard to follow.

Yuri isn't the easiest to understand, but if you sit towards the front and pay attention, you won't have a problem understanding him. He wrote the textbook, so he essentially teaches from it. You can still do fine by not going to class, you just need to read the textbook. His assignments, however, were way harder and didn't always cover classnotes

My only problem with Yuri was that his tests were much more difficult than the assignments. I'm normally an A- to A student and I got a B- in this course.

One word: HORRIBLE! Yuri may be a decent person, but he is quite possibly the worst prof I've ever had, and I've had some pretty terrible ones. He is hard to understand, and it is virtually impossible to read the notes he writes on the board. My advice to anyone taking his class is to not write down any of his notes, and just use the textbook.

Yuri is a good guy. He is a little boring at times, but he does teach Econ! Every once in a while he will say something really funny that makes going to class worth while. I have no problems with Yuri, he only makes the class as difficult as it has to be. Good prof.

Pros: very knowledgeable, very reasonable workload, good notes . Cons: don't ask questions in class, he'll make you feel like somewhat of an idiot. I have the feeling that he's become embittered as of late. Overall, he's not bad, but has a few shortcomings.

Best Class I've taken yet!!!! Don't wast your money on the textbook, his notes in class explain it all. Just make sure you can read your own short hand cause' he moves from one point to another swiftly.

He is not good at all. His lectures are so intensive and you can feel the pressure for his classes. Assignments are long and hard. When you try to ask a question in class, he will take it so seriously and make you feel like an idiot. Then what is the reason for taking his class.

Great guy, bonus points for accent. The notes he gives you are better than the textbook, so don't waste your money! May seem formal at first, but he has a good (but strange) sense of humor. "I love those little elephants!"
