what an awesome class and professor! if creative writing is what you're really passionate about, seriously take this class. he gives you a lot of work to do, but he offers terrific constructive criticism to help you make it better. if you're late to his class he'll get pissed off at you, but if you show up and ask good questions, he'll love you.

This class allowed me to practice my writing skills and see where I needed work. However, he didn't actually teach me anything. He is a really nice guy and easy to get a long with but he doesn't like specific genres and will be really biased against your work if you write them. In the end it was kind of an easy A.

not really thrilled that i showed up to every single class on time and stayed through, handed in every single piece of work, receiving not only high marks but also having my writing called "elegant" and "worthy of being published" and then given an a-. a good grade but too low when you deserve an a. still...he IS pretty cute.

excellent professor. doesn't take **** from students, especially attendance and crap writing, which made the class a lot better. if ur serious about creative writing, he can really help you improve. gives awesome constructive criticism and helps you improve ur stories w/o belittling you. kind of weird and quirky but says some real funny****.

Great teacher, works very well with students. Values students' opinions just as highly as his own. The entire workload is two-three short stories (reading responses are just a gimmick). Very strict attendance policy, but if you're interested in writing, class is fun anyway. Definitely take him.

This is the most helpful Cr.Wr. prof. I've ever had. Consists of reading short stories, analyzing them as a class, and doing writing excercises/asgmnts based on key priniciples. Lazar is FANTASTIC. Made me a better writer, very constructive.
