Love that she wears scrunchies! Material is difficult if you are not used to theory. GO SEE HER IN OFFICE HOURS. no real direction 2 lectures, but interesting regardless. Name drops like no other; retells stories lots; loves long, convoluted words. Not an easy mark, but u will learn something (or fall asleep in class regularly). DO THE READINGS

Great prof, extremely personable! The course was very relevant, and she used current examples. At times she was unorganized, but made up for it in personality. She was a fair marker, as long as you used clarity.

great teacher, interesting lectures, good themes that ran through the entire class, so it was easy to write the assignments. this class takes a very critical perspective. she talks alot about what her life is like as an academic, which frusterated some people but i liked it, it is a chance to see whether you are cut out for the academic world.

Extremely intelligent and friendly woman, I personally like her alot. I can't say I got alot out of her class, but she was extremely fair in marking, and did not seem to expect too much from the class.

Very theory based course as mentioned by others,Im sure she creates her own words...she likes to 'problematize',along with other words im not entirely sure exist.She quotes herself alot and has more texts by her than any other theorist in her course.Always seems to make same point.Friendly prof too.

Although her lectures are very theory based, she is one of the nicest teachers at UVic. She is not afraid to show her personality and makes all students feel comfortable. I learned so much from her classes.
