Prof. Fine is funny and pretty relatable to students, but he didn't seem to know a lot about the art. He pretty much just flipped through pictures and described what was obvious. Otherwise, he was nice and I enjoyed learning a little more. There's only 2 tests which is a little rough and pop quizzes are 20% of your grade but he dropped the lowest 2

A lot of your grade comes from participation but if you say about one thing most discussions you will get a good grade. To do well you need to read the book but you can get a decent grade without reading if you go to lectures. He really emphasizes pushing the students to teach each other. Most grades come from essays but he grades very fairly.

KEEP UP WITH THIS CLASS. For some weeks, assignments were due every day. Keep up with the reading and blog, and posts. Do everything. Comment twice on other student's discussion board posts. Work your butt off on the paper.

Aaron is not the best but still OK. His expectations are kind of ambiguous but he's very helpful to anyone who shows they really care about the assignments and improving. He was open and gave decent feedback about my ideas and I learned about a lot of interesting artists through him. Though I've gotten all Bs in his class so far, it's not all bad.

Fair enough grader but basically a pretentious a**hole. Very condescending toward almost anything students contribute to discussion. Take the class, but know you'll have to be patient with the profs own inflated head and sub-par art skills.

Never ever take this class if he is teaching it. His comments are worthless and he never gives you good grades even if you do EXACTLY what he says. He gabs for hours and kills my love for art more and more each time I go to his class. He also wants you to always use EXPENSIVE BFK Rives paper, $4 a sheet, not the tradition big sketchbook paper.

There aren't words for how much I hated this class. Fine never gave me a good grade, and I was one of the best in the class. No matter what I drew he could always find something wrong with it. Don't take this class unless you have the skillz of Picasso and the patience of Ghandi.
