Took this for the easy A, ended up learning a ton for my summer internship. A really useful class, uses an online grading program, which I didn't always love, but gets the job done. His lectures and sample problems are usually hilarious. Also gives you a guide with his notes to make studying a breeze. Loved this man, should have worked harder.

Comment:

He's funny, does a great job teaching a large stats class. All tests, quizzes and homework are online which is annoying, but he's pretty good about giving partial credit and keeping the average of a class at a B, so curving if necessary. Good sense of humor too.

Good prof, good lectures, but no partial credit so beware-- all tests/quizzes/homework are online. Really helpful in office hours, good if you want to talk about your grades. Also he's in a band called dangerboy so there's that. Attendance nonmandatory except quiz and test days.

Probability with Robertson was HARD. The material itself is challenging and Robertson didn't make it any easier for me. Tons of homework, which only served to make me more lost and confused. Tests are super hard, and he doesn't curve at all. I worked hard for this class but still ended up with a poor grade. Lost all confidence in my math skills.

Robertson is one of the truly great individuals at Colgate. He genuinely cares about the success of his students and will put in the time to help as long as you are willing to work with him. You do NOT need to be the best math student to excel in his class because Robertson truly will teach you how to succeed in his course.

Prof Robertson is an AMAZING teacher. Extremely clear in his explanations, and always willing to give help. Not a lot of work at all, but you get SO much out of the class. Im taking intro to stats with him, and I think everyone should know the stuff we're learning- it's very applicable to real life. TAKE ROBERTSON'S CLASS!!!

very organized, helpful, and straight-forward. tests are a little tricky, especially the final, but he did curve one of them. he is NOT one of the easy stat professors, so if you're looking for that easy A, i wouldnt recommend him. if you're looking to actually learn statistics though, he'd be a good professor to take the class with.

possibly one of the coolest guys ever. so helpful if you go to his office hours. tests are pretty hard, but if you go to see him he will sit with you for as long as it takes you to understand the material. also, no homework. definitely take his class!!

Very good at explaining things. Definitely attend his office hours, it will really help you do well on the computer projects and the bigger final project. Quizzes are mostly easy, so they help your grade. Tests are VERY tricky, even with good preparation. Still, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting at least a B. Would recommend.

first off, he's in dangerboy, so he's got really good taste in music. secondly, he outlines everything extremely clearly, i never needed the book. i didn't do homework very often at all, but the tests were kind of tricky. Overall, good experience.

great guy, FUNNY, really nice and very approachable. material wasn't too bad and he was a great teacher. tests pretty easy. very little work - 1 hw a week (30 min tops) 2 midterms, a project and a final. ends class 3 weeks early. i would def reccommend and take another class with him

Pretty easy glass. Funny guy. Very helpful when going to office to ask questions. Very little work outside of the class. Enjoyed the semester a lot. Makes statistics easy and interesting.
