If you attend class/pay attention/do homework you should be fine. I hardly put any effort in outside of just doing the homework and studying the night before the exams and I did fine. Lectures are boring though, but that is to be expected with Finance I suppose.

This prof is the man. You just have to pay attention and try to provide meaningful conversation to the discussions and he literally hands you extra points. Tests are based on powerpoints. No need for book.

He will call you out, even if you don't raise your hand. You can't say you aren't sure or you don't know- he will stop the class and stare at you until you answer. Unbelievably boring, it is actually painful. He is one of the worst professors I've had.

Very boring class and the he is difficult to understand at times. He often made mistakes with examples on the board so beware. The exams and final were extremely hard and near impossible. Homework and extra credit were easy points.

I'm one of few who liked Dr. Noorbakhsh. He expects a lot of effort. His class is hard but you learn a lot. Go to every class, study, participate and you'll be fine. He rewards students who really try hard.

Always a tough go with this guy. Throws a lot of curveballs on tests and you are never really quite sure of your grade throughout the semester. Had him for a few classes and my opinion isn't very high of him as a person or teacher. If there are other options explore those first before taking this guy.

Overall nice guy. Actually cares about the subject, you can tell he enjoys his work. The subject itself isn't easy. But he was always going over problem after problem to help. Book is key for this class. He really expects you to be in class everyday. If you want an easy A, get out of Finance all together.

Great teacher, I learned a lot. The class is not easy but if you can't do well in this class you should change your major. He is knowledgable about the subject and lays out the information needed to get a good grade. For those complaining, they do not realize the point of being in college.

He's a great teacher, really patient and passionate about his work. He responds to emails quickly, and always helps if asked. The workload can be heavy, but if you read the text and pay attention, you'll get a good grade. I really liked this professor, both as a teacher and as a person.

Great teacher, hard class. You must go to all classes or else you will get lost. He makes you earn your grade but you will reuse everything he teaches in other classes. The workload is normal but you must read the book to do well on the tests. His tests are hard but it is everything you go over in class. The accent wasn't a problem.

Nice guy for the most part. Only gives a midterm & final, but gives a quiz everytime you finish a chapter so be prepared. Give a ton of extra credit assignments. Sometimes hard to understand & can spend 3 days talking about the same 2-4 slides...he goes on long winded talks about non-sense barely realted to the class. be prepared to daydream

Noorbakhsh holds his students accountable for their knowledge, a quality lost to many in the realm of academia. Why should he not? Is this not a College? Is Finance a field that permits errors? Noorbakhsh holds his students responsible for their knowledge because life and industry surely will. The weak need not major in Finance, study Art.
