Can be difficult to understand. Offers generous bonus marks. Emphasizes group work. Very detailed powerpoint lecture notes. Willing to assist if the student is showing effort. Uses negative marking for multiple-choice exams (+0.5, -0.25). Tests/exams/assignments are fair. Still learning his craft, but improving.

I had Sheikh when he had just started teaching, and he was befuddled, but nice. These days, he's still befuddled, but he's become a hardass with everyone, intolerant of students' problems, etc. He can't teach for crap (common at Ryerson) and he's got a fairly bad attitude (also common, but at least he's not a psycho like Stott).

was not helpful at all. It was a waste to attend classes. If you have a book you will learn more from the book then from this guy..no offense but he needs more experience teaching.

Avoid this guy at all costs! Very ambiguous, biased and extremely unhelpful. And his tests don't make any sense. We did bring the ambiguity of the questions to his attention, but he ignored it and made the final ever worse. Did I learn something in this couse? - Absolutely not!

Shaikh has no real experience to impart to students. It's cool I guess since most students aren't actually there to learn, but to say that they've taken Software Eng, and gotten something out of it in an interview. He's a symptom of how bad Comp Sci has degenerated - from Soft Eng to any discussion of databases, he's got all the wrong answers.

The worst, hands down. It feels like he's teaching backwards. The has these stupid real life examples that he tries to use to make things easier to understand, but it just makes things worse. When someone asks a question, he gives you an answer you don't understand, and he constantly stops the class at the samllest sound a student makes.

Attend class, answer his questions, make sure to do the surprise quiz (sometimes he tells you in advance), do the work (not that hard just time consuming). I used some stuff from these courses to document my work project. So I did learn something. I got A-. Be creative in your presentations (last one for sure), as he sees alot and gets bored.
