Comment:

He's a good professor- but I would not suggest him for high level classes unless you are ready to WORK. He gives the most work out of all professors, and if you cannot keep up you WILL feel swamped. I like him as a person, and he is always open to helping you if you come to his office hours- but still. Probably the hardest Latin teacher I have had.

Comment:

He is a great guy who truly cares about Latin and his students. HOWEVER, do not take this class. Half the class can barely keep up with the homework assignments and Kopp's tests are far from easy even if you happen to understand the content. Also, he takes points off your grade if you happen to miss more than 5 classes for any reason.

He's a really cool guy! He may challenge some of what your previous Latin teachers may of taught you concerning grammar, but other than that he's a pretty easy teacher. Plus he's very into digging into the culture of Rome as well. Make sure you attend class though (he wont allow more than 4 excuses)

Class participation is graded. Quizzes and tests are easy if you do the assigned reading. Very nice professor and very willing to help if you have any questions. Keeps class interesting.

As a major, i've had plenty of classes with Dr. Kopp. He's one of my favorite professor at Mercer. His class is an easy A and he loves to discuss any problems or clarify anything. The more you participate in class, the better you make the class.

Really nice and the class is super easy. However if you have taken Latin before don't take him, he's very lax with major rules and super strict on one's I haven't ever heard of in 4 years of Latin. Overall a good beginners class especially if you're not looking to continue Latin, just an easy A

Great teacher. If you stay up on the vocab and homework, you shouldn't have any problems with getting an A in the course. He is a very understanding teacher and always available to help. The class can be easy if you put in work.

Dr. Kopp is a pretty good teacher. His class can be boring, but it's not really his fault - learning a language is about repetition. Sometimes he's a little unclear about explanations in class, but he's very patient with answering questions.

Dr. Kopp is amazing. If you're not already, when done with his course you will be interested in what you've learned. He's nice, always helpful, and knows his material. During my class people were extremely disrespectful and spoke when he did. This man deserves respect!! He is absolutely the best professor I've had at Mercer. Hands down.

I consider myself a "veteran" Latin student, still Dr. Kopp never ceases to amaze me. I interviewed him with I taking UNV here at Mercer, and my view of him still has not failed as being one of the most interesting and wonderful persons I have ever met. This class was no different. It was a Latin philosophy course. He makes it great. Take him!

Great teacher! Watch out for staying on top of your homework. He's always smiling, always willing to explain, and truly believes that there are no stupid questions. He gets off track every now and then to talk about his past, but he's interesting, so its okay. A wonderful person and professor!

Great professor for taking Latin under. Sometimes hard to read what he has on the board, as his u's and n's look similar. If you do the work, no reason not to get at least a B.
