This was the worst class Ive ever taken while being here at JJAY. Dont take this class unless youre willing to devote 80% of your week doing assignments its not worth it. The amount of work, and the amount of days per week wed be doing work, you would think this is a 400 level course. He grades harshly & class was extremely boring. Avoid !!!

horrible. do not take unless you're ready to take a capstone in literature. he attacks students that do not agree and forces political views when it is not a politics class.

Hybrid course. Amazing professor. Made complex topics so understandable. You HAVE to read the books but the in class sessions make you want to read them & they're interesting. His papers were incredibly challenging but you will learn so much&he guides you through it. Very respectful of student's wishes when navigating racial language used in texts.

Don't take this class if you're not willing to devote 100% of your time & effort into it. His online quizzes and discussion boards are easy, but the standards for his papers are unrealistically high. Although a very nice, helpful, and passionate guy, he can sometimes lose his temper and call students out on their mistakes. He gives extra credit.

Mckible is a gem. Truly interested in what he teaches and is very helpful. He makes you work for your grade but you learn a lot. He's not the type of professor you can cheat though. Do your work and make sure you do the readings. He gives a lot of work.

Best professor ever! I took his classes in Fall 2012, and couldn't be happier. He really makes you enjoy the class! And the class is not hard at all as long as you read all texts. Wish all Professors were like him!I feel more confident in my writing after taking his class!

Very good Professor. He will make you a better writer through out the semester. He wants everyone to succeed but does not play favorites. You must earn your grade. His Class is easy if you follow his directions and keep up with the Reading. It is not hard but not easy. You wont regret your college experience in john jay. He is clearly Amazing

TAKE HIM! He is one of the best professors I've had so far here at John Jay. He makes the class fun and is very enthusiastic to teach. He treats all students equally and gives a fair amount of readings. Just do the readings and you will do fine on the quizzes (they're pretty easy). Don't have your cell phone out or you're in trouble! Received an A.

Amazing professor! I took his class during the summer.I received an A. I worked very hard on the final paper. There was still a workload during the summer, but I am pretty sure it is less than a regular length session. Def. take him for American literature.
