Comment:
Mutlak is obviously knowledgeable, and he cares immensely about his students and his subject. However, his class was straight up difficult. I took the summer course, so the class was condensed. He listened to what we wanted and was lenient with labs. The tests are like the powerpoint problems. I'd take it again, but it's not for the faint of heart.

Mr Mutlak is a good guy with a difficult subject. I dont think hes a bad teacher but Physics is just a very tough subject. I think the most important thing is to do the HW and practice problems. If you review this material before lecture youll be able to follow along. If not it will basically be a waste of your time. You cant be lazy in this class

Worst teacher i have ever had. Very unclear, cannot teach, easily bothered and distracted by any noise made by students, adds chapters to test last minute, hastily covers chapters. Coming to lecture and looking at his lab notes/powerpoints will not help you at all. Really regret taking this class with him. Its just 3 hours of him contantly rambling

Comment:
Professor Mutlak is a nice guy and he cares about the success of his students. His genuine caring can seem like hes being mean but he believes his students should work hard. He also uses scantrons for all his tests and quizzes so you have a decent chance if you're shaky on something. His lectures can be a tad slow sometimes.

argues with students, extremely unclear explanations, changes his mind about how things are graded (told our class homework was graded based on completion, but then took off points for mistakes?), labs were never relevant to what we were doing in class and more than once while taking a test he stopped us b/c none of the answer options were right

This class was a disaster. I actually found that the material was clearer when I skipped class. He convoluted everything in his lectures. He insulted and argued with students, got frustrated by straightforward questions. Second worst professor I've ever had.

This class is hard for you if you don't study for it. I'm taking this class right now with Adil Mutlak and he's a great professor. I really like his way of teaching, he gives study guides before exams and quizzes, which are very helpful. All I can say is "Go to class everyday"

He gets frustrated when students leave early and don't attempt the homework. If you spend just 20 minutes outside of class doing the homework and stay the 2 hours he teaches then you should get an A. He also takes into consideration when giving final grades who stayed for his class and who did not. I recommend him.

I had this professor last yr and after about a week, you will understand him. he is a extremely smart man and need to be in class. Most students in his class do not want to study and do the hw this is why they get bad grades and try to blame his english. do hw and labs, and it will offset your test grades and you will get a B,is helpful if you ask.

This guy is by far the worstinstructor ever. You can barely understand what he is saying, his notes are horrible and his wording in the tests and handouts is incredibly bad. He needs to take english as a second language again! I would never take another class of his. His teaching license should be revoked.

Comment:
Not a very good teacher. Doesn't allow class discussion and his notes are very difficult to understand. Often gives several trick questions on his exams, which are lengthy and somewhat difficult for an entry level science course. Can be argumentative at times with students and will brush off several questions for whatever reason.

Sometimes difficult to understand. More importanly, argues with students often and gets is extremely difficult to communicate with. He offers an easy class to pass with most of the exam questions coming from worksheets, but does not help your educational process the way a professor should. My opinion, definitely do not get what you paid for.

WOW. He needs to learn some better English if he wants to be a good prof. Notes are really hard to understand because words are misspelled and used incorrectly. He flusters easliy and comes across as a jerk. He's a stickler for attendance, down to the minute. Writes down exact time you come and go.

Horrible! Absolutely horrible. The people in my class were all willing to learn, but he thought teaching meant testing on extensive scientific information that he never covered in class. I am not a scientist, nor a science major, but to pass his class I felt like I was both. Please don't take him!

Don't even get me started! I was warned about this guy by others who had gone before me but foolishly stuck it out. He makes no sense during lectures, tests on information not covered in class or in the book and gets visibly annoyed by questions. Did not hand out a student review.
