The class helped me understand Spanish and speak more fluently. I came into the class with no experience at all. Loved the class and jokes he made. Wish he was still teaching so that I could take him again.

He is fun and has hilarious moments, but you need to study. You won't get by through not studying. He is very difficult on you and at the beginning can be very hard, but he slowly becomes nicer as the semester goes. He will call you out if you don't know what you are doing, so be prepared. Just remember to have fun and always attend class!!!

He's a good teacher if you study hard and understand everything right after away but if you slip up ones or get sick he has no empathy. As the other comments said he belittles students and he even in fact told my class he doesn't not like kids nor students (keep in mind he has kids). He made a girl cry. People were afraid to ask for help. Be wary.

If you didn't understand what he was teaching new that day he was not nice t you. He will tell you that you should just drop out because there is no point. He would call out people that failed there test ad some times even say there test scores out loud. if you're someone who asks a lot of questions for an understanding do not take his class then.

Belittles students non-stop. If you don't understand the material the day he gives it to you, he will call you hopeless and basically say that you should drop the class right now. I don't recommend this class to people who haven't had sufficient experience in Spanish.

Augustin was an awesome teacher. Took Spanish 101 as a refresher and general education fulfillment, received an A no problem. Definitely go to class, it will pay off when the final comes around. Had five or so "pop" quizzes so going to class was important. Pretty funny guy and does a good job involving everyone in the class. Highly recommend

Your grade depends on attendance/participation (30%), midterm (30%), oral final exam (10%) and written final (30%). He knows spanish but is not very good at explaining things to students who haven't had spanish at all. I would take with him for my higher level classes, but not lower level. He is intimidating. I survived because I had 3 years prior.

If you don't catch on right away you are in trouble. He expects us to memorize 100 vocab words in the course of a day. I will NEVER take another class with him. the only graded things are the midterm and final. It's only a 50 min. class, but it feels like forever. I advise not to take unless you are SERIOUS about Spanish.

Very intimidating at first, but throughout the semester you will realize why he's being so tough on you. He wants you to learn the correct way. He isn't going to beat around the bush. Learn and memorize everything. GO TO CLASS.

Agustin is a great professor. He is fun and he cares about his students. If you, however, skip class or show disrespect to him or to class by not paying attention, then, as some people wrote, he will "belittle" you. Although I would say you pretty much belittled yourself.

Probably my least favorite professor ever. If you don't catch on to the Spanish right away he basically called you stupid and helpless. He expects you to have perfect attendance and chews you out when you miss a day. He has zero patience and is very rude. Expect to study and feel very unformortable and victimized with this professor.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. He seems like a fun, outgoing professor at first, but if you don't plan on sitting front row, studying every second of the day to please him, then do not take him. Especially if you are in sports. Nothing is an excuse for skipping his class. You have to eat, breathe and sleep Spanish. He belittles students so bad too.

Agustin is very passionate about Spanish and wants his students to succeed. He doesn't take attendance but he pays attention to who is there and who isn't, so make sure you go! Even though its an entry level spanish class, you learn something new every class so you dont want to miss often. Rarely any hw but you need to make sure to study the vocab.

Professor Boyer, being a native Spanish speaker, is very good at helping his students get better at learning the Spanish language. His classes are oftentimes not as structured as others, and there are not a lot of assignments, just a few essays, so you have to make sure you do well on what homework he does give you.

I dont understand other people's ratings, because this is probably the most awful spanish professor I've ever had. He made my question why I chose to minor in spanish every single day. He was unclear, he belittled students, and had a poor attitude for people who are not native speakers. DONT TAKE HIM!!!!

He is very passionate about Spanish poetry, thats for sure. Kinda hypocritical when he says "there is no wrong answer" and then shoots your idea down though. Cute, funny old man. Pay attention, keep an open mind. I dont like him, but you might, others do.

BEST professor I have had so far at SCSU. He was very entertaining and is only crabby if you don't do the work. As long as you pay attention in class and memorize the vocab it's an easy A.

He is a difficult teacher who expects a lot from students. He can be very intimidating and quite scaring during class. Although, he seems like he really wants students to learn and knows what he is talking about.
