Comment:

The class is hated on a lot, but honestly it was not bad at all. I personally enjoyed the class and felt that we learned a lot. A lot of the material was from other fields, which made it more difficult to get a solid grasp on. The professor taught the class well and the TAs were very helpful as well.

I've never written a review for a professor but I will say this. DO NOT TAKE his cs334 class. You WILL REGRET it. I cannot repeat this enough. The exams are ridiculous and the homework have little to nothing to do with the exam or the material.

AVOID AVOID AVOID! Why did I not listen to other reviews?! 60% of grade is hw. There are NO solutions for the book that he uses. No way to know for certain the answer is right. Book doesn't even give examples for the questions he assigns for homework. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. You don't know for certain if the TA or prof even grade your hw properly..

Elgammal does not care about his class. Comes in late everyday. Projects are time consuming. Very hard to understand his accent. I would not reccomend taking this class.

Terrible teacher. Is very bad at explaining and does not prepate you well for anything. You will leave the room confused and not sure what you have just learned. Made the class harder than it should be and you suffer in the end. I strongly recommend someone else. Stay away from this teacher at all costs!

He doesn't speak English very well and has a very thick accent. He often speaks to the board so you can't really hear him. He's not very good at explaining either. Exams are open book so they weren't too bad. Assignments are a lot of work but doable. Unless you're very interested in the topic, take other classes!

WORST PROFESSOR EVER. does NOT speak english. DROP THIS CLASS and take it with a different professor. Grading system is ridiculous and unfair. Prof. does not know how to teach, recites from the book. His salary is $117k/year and does not deserve it. By far the worst class I have ever taken at RU, and the TA,who is heavily relied on, is no better

One of the worst professors i have ever had a rutgers. Comes to class late every day. Relies on the TA for everything. This man lacks basic social skills. He takes his slides out of the book. He confuses his p's with b's and his accent is unbearable. He should not be teaching at any level. He is a research professor who takes teaching lightly.

He is absolutely terrible professor. I ended up teaching myself everything. His accent is so strong and almost incoherent. He does a poor job at explaining problems and teaches right out of the book.Going to office hours did not offer much help. He takes a haphazardous approach to teaching, showing up late often. He does not care about students.

Awful Bad professor!!! Never explains the answers of the homeworks, always wants us to go and ask his TA. Gave us a project on weka but introduced with the tool weka and never answer any doubts.Very bad accent, haven't understood a thing in his class. He makes students suffer.

Very difficult course. He has a thick & hard to understand accent, teaches from the worthless book using pages scanned into transparencies, and frequently arrived late or missed class despite being a 2 minute walk from his office. This was the 1st time he taught the course, so he might do better next semester. Curve was helpful, but not enough.

Absolutely terrible professor. Avoid at all cost!!! His lectures are almost as worthless as the book, no answers to check sample homework problems and TAs dont go over sample homework problems until after that homework has been submitted!!! Kinda hard to understand his accent. Curve helps, but grades are still bad. Another RU Screw CS course :(

Doesnt care one bit about the students and still marks off for confusingly worded problems despite based on what was interpreted the solution would have been correct and demostrated proof of knowledge. Mumbles bad, writes worse, and reads completely out of the book. Lectures are worthless and the book isnt helpful because it has no sample answers.

Taught the material very thoroughly, so that if you're in class you don't have to read the book. Very helpful in office hours. The exams are impossible to finish, but he curves the final grade, so it doesn't really matter. Overall, I would recommend taking him :-).

Good Professor. Very helpful, a little bit of an Accent with pronounciations of certain letters. Broaden your minds and ears and listen to him.
