She's absolutely excellent. She loves her students, cares about her subject and just wants everyone to learn. She's so helpful that she will sit with you and take hours of her own time to go over your essays and make them better so you actually learn something. Definitely one of my favorite professors.

Aida is a great teacher. She speaks in spanglish so for non native speakers she is really easy to follow. I would recommend taking ASPN317 with her. as long as you read the text you will do fine on the minimal quizzes that she gives. She does not try to trick you and there are no tests, just midterm and final. Do the work and you will do fine.

I don't know what everyone is saying about her expecting you to be fluent when she explains stuff in English as well as Spanish. She's one of the most accomodating professors to people that don't have the biggest vocabulary or aren't confident in the language yet!

Excellent class and excellent teacher. Her enthusiam for the readings made me interested in them. I recommend this class if you want a native speaker who knows how to speak and write Spanish as well as give interesting lectures.

dropped because like everyone else said u have to be able to understnad the speed of a native talker. she does expect u to be pretty much completely fluent, it was a rough start with her. i have her for 317 and kept it, a bit easier but the book reading classes 316, 312 i would def not recommend her. ive been learning for 10 years & i feel stupid

I dropped her class. She speaks to the class as if everyone's fluent or something. She does not accomodate the NON-Spanish students in her class, and if you don't wanna fail because you can't keep up with the workload, don't do it. She can't teach, either.

She genuinely cares about her students. Sometimes she can be a little rude, but she doesn't mean to be, she's just trying to get a point accross. She may seem a bit harsh at times, but it out of love for her work and her students. I have to say that In my entire college career, no one has touched me quite as much as she did.

Aida is the BEST literature professor in the Spanish dept. I wish she taught more grad courses. She cares about the students- she telephoned all of us when class was cancelled . She really practices 'student centered classrrom' If possible, take a class with Aida, BUT work hard, participate, and you will do well
