COLLINS IS THE BEST. In his free time he enjoys bear-wrestling and saving puppies from burning buildings. Oh and did I mention that he's just about the chillest, most dope, swaggiest professor I've met in my life. Take him for every class you can. I also voted for him for president of the Unites States.

Collins is the ultimate badass. Perhaps my favorite professor at UHCL. Honestly, I didn't really care for the material before I took the class (CS major) but after taking it, I rather like all of it. I even kept the book to read through every now and then. Instead of just giving you an A, you actually learn the material easily, and earn your own A.

I can't believe the negative comments here. This guy gives weekly homework, however he reviews it in class before it's due. Going over the exact methods used to solve each problem. The Exams are very straight forward. It is a lot of memorizing, but basically right off the homework and study questions. You do have to work to get a grade here.

I LOVE THIS TEACHER. i cant believe all these bad comments about him...ok, homwork is weekly and allittle hard TRUE. Exams are hard .. WRONG, they are so straight forward, Class is bornig... Easy to understand. Homework was more difficult than described in the lecture. Book was only good for understanding the theory but insufficient as a homework tool. First three tests require memorizing formulas and understanding the homework. Recommend asking the professor for homework help at his office and not via email.

Also CENG 4031 and CENG 3331. How Dr. Collins treats you is based on his perception of you. If he thinks you are lazy, not paying attention, or trying to get out of work, he will not be friendly. In any case, he can seem condescending. However, he is a decent professor. If you work with him, he will work with you.

This guy is a complete jerk. Expect to be treated like a kindergartener, and don't ever speak out of turn unless you want to get reamed.The labs are incoherent, and you have to turn in your lab journal same day as lab. Expect no outside help without being ridiculed for not understanding.

I found his lectures to be dull and boring, slide shows were in black and white. No formula sheet on the exams I found were the greatest hinderance, because there are many formulas in the chapters (and we were only tested on a select few). Expect weekly homework assignments.
