Dr. Magyar is a standup guy once you get to know him outside of the classroom. If you want to do well, show that you care by going to office hours, asking questions, and participate in extra credit assignments. This class is a doozy, difficult homeworks with even more difficult tests. He is good about partial credit, but be prepared to work a lot.

Not a good professor and flies through notes. I did fine in the class but had to work really hard for it. I didn't learn anything during lectures but took notes and always read the book on my own. Only then could I understand what we talked about in class. There is not very many webwork assignments for homework, and there's 2 tests plus a final.

Doesnt reply to emails. Doesnt help you pass the class. Isnt a fair grader. Cant understand accent. Degrading towards students who dont know certain concepts. No extra credit.

He's kind of hard to understand at first and he blazes through the notes skipping a lot of steps, so you have to ask him questions to get him to slow down and review. The homework and review sessions help A LOT though, and he curved the final pretty heavily. I used symbolab and a lot of googling to help me get through the course and I made it.

Mags is an OK professor... he does know a lot about math but doesn't convey the information very well during lecture. He has a thick accent that's easy to get used to. In Calc 2, we only have 2 midterms and a final and homework barely counted in the final grade. I recommend taking another teacher since most others give tests/quizzes to boost grades

Mags is a stand-up guy. But he's not an easy professor, and neither are the classes that he will be teaching. He's one of the smartest people I've ever met and he really cares about the students in his class. He is willing to help students understands concepts after class and even has extra credit sessions. He is also a lenient grader. Best prof.

Dr. Magyar is one of those professors that are super hard at first, but he grows on you. He has a thick Hungarian accent, but within a few weeks you'll get used to it. He's a hard professor teaching a hard class, but I wouldn't want to take it with anyone else. You can really tell that Dr. Magyar cares about his students and their learning.

Professor Magyar is an okay professor. He spends a lil bit to much time of proofs. He also has an accent you get use to. His lectures aren't too organized-if you wanna get the material you need to do the hw and study on your own. One class a week is dedicated to extra credit-go for it (1pt for every question). If you do all of this you'll get an A.

Ok, if you took a BC calculus class in high school, 90% of this course will simply be a review until the introduction of vectors in the last two weeks. Easy course if thats the case however most find it challenging as he prefers to teach rather quickly through his lectures. Gives out extra credit as well which I recommend going for. Study and pass.

Horrible experience in 2700. Annoying voice. Annoying teaching style. Notes are long and unorganized. Always confuses himself about a third into lecture and has to correct himself. Tests are hard and non-reflective of his practice midterms. Positives: Grading scale is highly scaled. Just be above passing.

He's an awful teacher. He actually thinks that everyone has learned calc before even though you're in the class to learn calculus. He jumps around when he tries to do problems. his tests are very hard and there are only like two a semester. I had a tutor and couldn't even get through his class...

(he now teaches at UBC) there was no midterm, and the quizzes are not difficult. his voice may be incomprehensible at first but he does write down the notations on the blackboard properly and give you sufficient time to copy them. I was disappointed with my final mark because i did well in the course and final... fair prof nonetheless.

Dr. Magyar isn't too hard but is definately not easy. Do the homeworks, they definately help! Don't really bother to buy the textbook, its super expensive and not used one single bit. His accent is a bit hard to understand, like most professors in the Math depmnt. Though his tests are hard, he grades them very liberally.

Magyar does not teach to the slowest student in the clas, but to the brightest. However, he is patient when you get him one on one. The lectures, homework and tests were all hard. He is a nice guy, but not easy to find for help.

not a good teacher at all. he assumes that you know how to do everything and jumps around in the problems. his tests are hard and they are basically the grade you have besides quizzes. his questions on tests are hard and even some tutors couldnt answer them.

Sometimes assumes that students know how to do things and therefore does not cover them. He is really good about giving the class extra credit problems. He did let our class take a make up exam. In the end if you come to class do most of the hm/wrk, and show that you are trying you can get a B, if you are pretty good at clac an a is very possible.
