Dr Dean is honest and fair. If you are dressing in a way not appropriate for students to see you in as a teacher he will try to guide you. If you felt bad when you left his class then you took his guidance the wrong way and probably know he was right. He stumbled early in his life and came back from it. Hes trying to help you do that too.

Dr. Alan Dean is not a horrible teacher I have had worse. Yes, he pushes his believes on everyone in the class. Don't take what he says personal. Go to class. Visit him in office hours he loves suck ups!! Sad to say it but if you don't suck up you will not be recieving an A. NOT A FAN OF ATHLETES...

I read these comments and think, how ridiculous are these comments. The fact of the matter is Dr. Dean truly is a great teacher and cares about his students. All of you that are offended probably didn't make it into the school of education. Hmmmmm......was he right afterall!!!

First, I enjoyed his class so much that I took another with him. Second,the reason most of you do not like him is because you could not live up to his high expectations. I am unwed, live with my boyfriend, and ecentric not only in style but beliefs. Many of you say he makes you feel bad about yourselves but the TRUTH hurts!!!!!

Took Dr. Dean for EDU101. I was skeptical when I read the comments on him, but sadly most are true. The good thing is, he will let you look at test questions before tests. Sad part is, the bad outweighs the good. I have left Dr. Dean's class many times feeling bad about myself. He is very radical in his beliefs and pushes them on you often.

Dr. Dean is an interesting professor. He is very set in his old ways about teaching. I would not advise taking him if you are a single parent or unwed mother. He is tough in his class but he lets you review all tests questions if you go to his office. He also will look over any papers before they are due, and help you with them.

Now a teacher, I laugh at these posts. I didn't agree with his style and philosophy; however, I learned his way b/c he was the professor. If future teachers can't deal with his judgements and "off the wall" approach, they will never make it in a real school. There is more BS in the profession than you'll even endure in Dr. D class.

Has a real problem with anyone who doesnt suit his ideal of what a teacher should be. When I took his class I was a PE major and he really held that against me. Avoid this guy at all costs!

Arguablly the worse teacher i have ever had. He takes great pride in failing people. the first day of class he said if you were a guy or PE major you mise well drop the class because it's gonna be extra hard on you. He is a poor excuse for a teacher, did'nt learn anything besides how bad todays teachers are and how we need to dress. Avoid any cost.

Avoid him at all costs. All he does is rant about the state of teaching today, why everything is horrible because it doesn't follow his ideals, and he wear the exact same clothes every day. If you are a single mother, unwed parent, "eccentric" in clothing choices, etv- he will downgrade you automatically. Take Diane Downard if at all possible.
