Comment:

The orion assignments and homework are so much work. If you get behind in the class he does open assignments back up for you. Buy chegg study... it will save your life in this class. 2 final projects that you have to get a 70 or higher to pass. I would not recommend taking this class online.

Comment:

Took online and it was overwhelming. He was using a new online program and it was so labor intensive it wasn't even worth it. The grade heavily revolved around this new platform which made my grade suffer. I'm an A student and did not make an A in this class. More work in this one class (short semester) than my other 3 online classes combined!

Mr. Fortner is not very descriptive when you ask what you did wrong and that's not very helpful, but he is one of the only teachers I've had where he will let you correct the assignments and getter a better grade. Most teachers will tell you too bad...

In Mr Fortner's defense,I think he is trying to be one of those professors that teach you to think critically by making you work out the problem on your own. However, in the absence of a traditional classroom setting, this puts the online-only student at a HUGE disadvantage. If you need help,see Dawn McDonough in ASC or Fortner during office hours.

He should stick to the classroom and leave online teaching to someone else. He does not provide teaching support or markup assignments. He just gives a grade and does not tell you why. If you ask him a question, he answers in about 3 words leaving you in the same place you were before. Don't take his online course!

When you ask for help on problems he has students teaching students. He doesn't make corrections when the incorrect student guidance is given. Was an online class, with no online support from the teacher,he will only review work/errors if you come to his office, which he was never at.

He is a very smart man but you will be lost in the class if you take it online. He doesn't help you to do any of the work that you need to do for the class. Although he is very informative and has experience beyond what we can understand or comprehend.

I took the online class. I wish I had taken it in the classroom. I struggled with this class. Mr. Fortner does not offer too much help online. He wants you to go to the accounting lab on campus if you are having problems.

Mr. Fortner is by far the best professor i have ever had. I took him for both APA's and ACG and got a's all the times. To me the work was not hard. if you read and understand the material you will do just fine! He is always willing to help when youre in trouble with a project as well. If you read the material youll do great on the tests!!

The teacher himself is biggest sweetheart however the class is very hard, especially his tests. But make sure u do hw, projects n attend every class, n u'll be fine.I got an A (which i am very appreciative n would shake his hand next time i see him.)but it took me a lot of hours of work. Mr. Fortner is the best professor I have ever had. He is great!!! The class is very difficult but Mr. Fortner is there to help. Expect a lot of projects and homework. I got A in the class but I worked very hard for it. Highly recommend to take the class with him.

Mr. Fortner is very easy going. He gives "pop quizzes" before every test, but it actually helps prep you for the tests. The tests are multiple choice, but they're not easy. I look forward to taking all his Acctg. classes. He uses overheads, reviews the H.w. in detail and counts on his students to ask questions.

Mr. Fortner is great. He gives a lot of homework but it is helpful for the tests. Suggestion... Do the project as you go... it will help you on exams. He tells you what to study so you have a heads up on the exams.
