My most memorable professor! Social Deviance class exceeded my expectations. Guess I was lucky to have a small class, but I thought he was extremely helpful. Would love to take more classes from him.

Awesome professor. I had him for both Sociology 201 and Women's Studies 202. Both classes were very interesting and Horowitz is more than willing to work with you if you're having difficulties. It's also very important to do the readings and go to class. That's the key to getting an A.

He seemed to pick favorites and I wasn't one of them. Even though I wasn't a favorite I still did pretty well in the class. You need to do the readings, but I thought they were interesting so I didn't they were too bad. As long as you go to class and do the readings the exam won't be too hard

PLAYS FAVORITES! Class isnt bad as far as content and lecture, but he's too vague in what he's looking for in the writing. You can complete and comprehend the readings, but still do poorly. By the time I figured out what he was looking for I was very disappointed as you in dont need to read all his assignments. Again, he just plays favorites.

First of all, Horowitz plays favorites. If you are not one of his favorites, you will struggle. In this class, the majority of the grade depends on a journal which he never really describes how to do. I took two other classes with him and saw the same thing in every class. Wouldn't recommend his classes.

Once you know what he's looking for in essays it's easy. you need to attend class though. classes will require you to think. otherwise he's a pretty friendly guy

He picks favorites. Harder than most of my main campus classes now. I agree he does need to loosen up. Not what i would call a cool guy.

There is a difference between a hard exam, and an exam that just goes overboard and is unnecessary...his is the latter. About a quarter of the questions on his exam make NO SENSE whatsoever. I have taken main campus classes before and they are BY FAR more straighforward than Horowitz claims them to be. Lighten up...especially for an intro class.

Have taken 3 classes with him and would take more. He is a great guy, like people said get to know him outside class! If you aren't interested in sociology you might not like it, but I found the readings fascinating. If you have the chance, TAKE RACIAL INEQUALITY. It is easily one of the best experiences you will have in your life.

He is a terrible teacher. Seriously, I struggled my hole way through it. The questions on the test are confusing and the readings are boring. I would do whatever it takes to not take this class. The only way i passed it was by talkin to him outside of class. Get to know him and you should pass with atleast a D.
