a few compliments go a LONG way. he's incredibly hard to understand, but clearly passionate about philosophy, and willing to give a good grade to anyone who shows some interest in it. plus he's this adorable little old man

This guy is a joke. Every single class is mandatory but pointless because you wouldn't be able to understand him anyhow. Read the two books for midterm and final but midterm doesn't even count towards your grade. Unfair grader. Please don't ever take

Prof Gildin is incredible intelligent, but if you're a slacker or not feeling the material that day you will not understand him. He uses a Mic now so you can hear him. Best when you get him 1 on 1 to explain stuff to you. Brilliant mind, and fair grader!

DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. FOR YOUR OWN SAKE. PLEASE. I BEG YOU!! For you slackers, it's a good class. You don't do ANYTHING for the whole semester. But the final is the ONLY grade in the class, so final = YOUR GRADE IN CLASS. He murmurs, can't hear beyond first row. Horrible. Horrible experience. Do not think you can kiss up to him. It's impossible.

Professor Glidin is not at all a good professor. I hate to say that it is because he is too old, But it's very possible. His voice barely projects past the second row of students and he talks in sentence fragments because he picks his words so carefully to the point where it's hard to understand anything. Would not ever recommend.

I will never take this prof. again. He is so difficult to understand, and despite the amount of knowledge he has, it is hard to benefit from him. If you are not able to focus easily, I do not recommend him. Although I believe I did okay in his class, you will not find out until the final, becuase that is the only grade you have. I do not recommend!

DON'T, I repeat, DON'T take that class if he's your professor! I sit through that class twice a week not having the slightest clue as to what is going on. I ask around thinking I was just behind but I'm not alone! Find another professor.

Prof. Gildin is one of the most challenging teachers you will have at QC. He is brilliant, challenging, and he evaluates papers with incredible precision. But be advised: this is not a gut course. Be prepared to work, and to think!

He is the only one who teaches a class that majors need. If you are not a philosophy major, avoid him like the plague. If you are, hold off on this class for as long as possible and pray that he retires or the department gets someone else to teach this class. Monotone mumbling under his voice for two hours and mandatory attendance. Useless lectures

Take this professor if you love to think very very slowly when reading very slowly. If you're in a rush, you'll hate this. I found it a great exercise to stay focused in life. Grading was fair.

Horrible professor. Avoid at all costs. Reads to you from the book in a strange mumble. Takes attendance every class so you have to show up. Don't bother buying book - did well on midterm and final studying from sparknotes. Just show up and sleep...
