Comment:

He cares about his students and is very relaxed about deadlines, often allowing very generous extensions. However, he is very disorganized, and generally lacks an understanding of his students' other commitments both in and out of the classroom when scheduling for the course. No syllabus was given, for example. He won't return graded work either.

Comment:

Nice guy, very knowledgeable. Worked very hard to ensure everyone understood all the material. Hosted extra out-of-class review sessions before every midterm, and was often available to even meet on the weekend. Incredibly patient during class. Definitely take him for 212 if possible.

Will go far out of his way to help students. Even met on Saturdays to help!Fair tests with lots of practice problems given beforehand. Class is a little dry and gives challenging questions, but I really like Knoerr as a professor and person. Easy to approach and interested in your life outside of class. He is a great source of advice on too!

PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR, IF YOU AGREE WITH KNOERR! he made us put both our hands in the air whenever we agreed with him about something. What he taught did not make sense at all, and confused most (probably all) people in the class. I would never take another class with him again ever.

He is such an awful teacher! He may know what he's talking about but he sure as hell can't tell you. I met with him tons of times to try and understand what was going on and he was so unhelpful. He can't explain anything it felt like I was talking to a wall.

I took AP stats in high school as used the same textbook, and somehow this man succeeded in confusing things that I thought I already understood. Boring as a carrot and every class a couple people don't show up just because it's not worth it. Yuck. Take anything else.

gahh. boring. the only thing that kept me awake in that class was his plaid shirts (and hunting jackets) combined with the bright green chalkboards of mosher 2: it was like looking at a magic eye for an hour.

This teacher is awful, and oxy knows it. In class, this prof was unclear, and the tests are even worse. If you have taken Stat before, you should be ok. Just trust me and wait for another teacher. I woldnt go to class cause i teach myself everything, but he takes attendance, so that makes him worse.

If you want to do well in this class dont plan on doing anything else. He is as helpful as he can be, and very amenable, but he is overenthusiasic about what the entire class will accomplish. (The handouts for the class mostly were for MATH 114).

Prof Knoerr was very unclear in class and when I asked for help he just repeated what he said in class, which isn't helpful at all. Additionally, his teaching style is much better for teaching a conceptual class like statistics, not calculus.
