He digresses a lot and his lectures are very boring. He is very nice but the TA does most of the work other than his lecture class. you have to read all the books is the syllabus. At the end of the semester he brings a cake.

Do not, by any means, take this professor. He was unprofessional throughout the semester and did not get grades back to us. So unorganized that he kept printing and grading my same paper multiple times without realizing. Made frequent inappropriate comments that made me uncomfortable as a student. Whether or not you show up to class doesn't matter.

Holy lord, what to say about Dr. Rauch. First off, he's the nicest, most intelligent professor I've ever had. He's a really sweet guy who just loves animals and nature. But as for a structured course, whew. He's super unorganized, he's rarely follows the syllabus, and you have to beg him to grade and give back any assignment.

Alan loves what he teaches and makes every lecture interesting. As long as you pay attention in class and do the few assignments given you'll pass. Sometimes you might get a donut or candy too!

Prof. Rauch was the best professor I have had at UNCC. Criticizing someone who thinks different to you is the sign of someone who does not want to learn or at the very least listen. His lectures stray from time to time but you end up thinking more than groaning. Makes the subject more interesting and makes you want to go to class.

Dr. Rauch is a great professor when looking from the aspect of knowing what he's talking about and being passionate about what he's teaching. All you really have to do is actually pay attention to his lectures, and by doing so, the quizzes should be easy. He does his best to remember his students' name and things they say. Overall, very respectable

This man is so sweet, and has the BEST intentions. but lord does he ramble. one minute we'll be talking about whales, the next how women are oppressed in modern day Iraq. His lectures are hard to follow, just make sure you concentrate on the DEFINITIONS he gives. his slides are bare, just pictures. and BEWARE, he will talk to you for HOURS.

Dr. Rauch is a man that will take you on a journey if you let him. I learned a lot from him; more than I thought I would. He view of academics is that of patience and adaptation, and he is less structured and rigid than most. He will go off on tangents, but if you listen, he will give you some of his wisdom on these "side quests". Very wise man.

He is a great person and is super nice but this being the first time he has taught this particular class, it was very unorganized. There is no attendance policy so I stopped going halfway through the semester and only went when I had a presentation. No tests, only analysis' on assigned chapters. Long papers but the topics are easy to write about.

Very funny and smart guy..Well it depends if you share his sense of humor. He tries to make things very straightforward. There is required reading but I never read and made great scores on quizzes because they are based off the powerpoints. He gave us cookies, candy, and DONUTS!! He sometimes steers off topic quickly, but warns you before doing so.

Dr. Rauch is an excellent professor. He is willing to help in any way he can and goes over the material thoroughly. Attendance is "mandatory", but if engage yourself with the course, he is lenient. He has a tendency to go off on the occasional rabbit trail, but it makes the class more enjoyable. I only wish he taught more classes.

This man is by far the best professor I have met or learned from at this University for an English degree. If you're blessed and lucky enough to have a class with him, you won't want to leave when it's time to go home! If you're taking a literature course, even if you don't like BritLit, he's your man. Your learning experience will be top-notch.

Dr. Rauch is truly a brilliant man. He taught at Georgia Tech for 9 years (respectable school!). He has broad range of interests &his goal is to help show students how everything connects. He is disorganized & ill-prepared at times but just talk to him one on one & you get a whole different feel. He likes when you show interest! Introduce yourself!

This guy is under appreciated. He made what very easily could have been a bland gen-ed requirement interesting, and he's clearly an intelligent and passionate man, albeit a little disorganized. He's approachable, fair, and reasonable. He clearly cares about his students and I definitely learned something.

Professor Rauch has to be the least prepared professor I have ever met in my life. I had to drop his class because his quizzes are based on his opinions instead of Facts. Basically, I knew MY opinion was definitely wrong in his eyes, so I had a 1 in 3 shot. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

this dude is crazy, so the only way you will pass is go to class and actually listen to what he thinks is important, i havnt read any of the books or his random info emails and have passed every quiz. mult. choice. he writes SAT questions so dont confuse yourself on those. only thing u need is clickers. i dont think i've learned anything though..

6 quizzes drops 1 50% of grade, midterm 15%, final 30%, participation 5%. need clickers, uses it for attend. but he usually never gets the clicker board to work so attend never really taken. easy, he goes over every book you have to read so i didn't read at all. nice and is pretty clear.

Professor Rauch: Gigantic Tool. I cant believe someone who thinks that he is pro science would use examples that were debunked over two decades ago. Also gets off topic all the time, then uses trivial questions that don't matter on quizzes. Don't take this class if you have any respect for Science or America, because God knows he hates patriots.
