His lectures are really boring and it was difficult to even stay awake some days. The only time I opened my book was to do the study guides. Basically just do the study guides and look into the short answer topics he gives you and you'll do fine. Nice guy, but quiet and doesn't relate to college kids well. Overall, he knows what he's talking about.

This was more of a history course than anything. Although he brings up some valid points, his opinion is very biased and he tries to impress that upon the class. Would not recommend if you don't like history or if you have strong opinions.

I loved this class. Like said before, attendance is really only mandatory on discussion days as well exams, but that's a given. He's really passionate about his work and if you're really into learning about different racial groups, this is the class to be in. Read your textbook and participate in class. Definetly an easy A!

Not too bad of a class...definitely is more of a history class. It can be kind of boring but at least he is passionate about what he's talking about. 3 exams (35 multiple choice and 6 short answer) and short discussion papers which aren't bad at all. Not a terribly hard class. Be sure to use the textbook!

The issues he mentions in class were relevant in 1993. It is obvious when he got tenured, as all his material ceased to be updated since that time. If you don't care about receiving a quality education then he is tolerable.

This is class is extremely easy as long as you take some notes and go to class. Attendance is only mandatory on discussion days. ALWAYS write papers on his point of view or you'll get a bad grade.

I thought he was an okay guy. The material isn't that interesting and it seemed more like a history class than a sociology class to me. Do the study guides he gives you and participate in class and you will be golden.

VERY boring professor! Hard to stay awake in this class. Does multiple choice with 8 or so short answer questions for his exams. Not the nicest guy either.

He is not very good of a teacher, his lectures are extremely boring and the material covered sucks. His tests are easy as long as you take notes and study from the study guide he gives you. I wouldn't recommend taking his classes

Dr. Ge****s is quite a character. His collection of corduroy pants and neckerchiefs is enviable. There is no doubt that he is very intelligent; not everyone can relate to him. If you don't take his passion the wrong way, his class can be a great time. Don't take him too seriously and neither will he.

I did not enjoy the class or the professor. Ge****s was a nice enough guy but the class was extremely boring and he doesn't have a good teaching style. I wouldn't recommend taking his classes.

Ge****s is a pretty cool guy. He totally knows what he is talking about and he even appears in the videos he plays in class. Kinda dry and not very friendly but he does crack some lame jokes once and awhile. He gives you everything for the test. The questions come straight from the lecture so if you take good notes you will be fine

Easy class, and pretty interesting. He is really biased in most of the things he teaches, but at least he cares about something. Tests are multiple choice with a few essays, and are very easy. Responses he asks you to do are easy as well. Easy A if you show up and take some notes and use his study guide.

This guy is probably one of my favorite prof's this semester. He is very approachable, has pretty fair assignments. Gotta do some reading for papers, but papers are as long as you want them to be as long as you get the point across. Have to talk a few times. Helps to read the book, but not needed. I would defiantly recommend.

U get essays 1week prior exams to prepare-answers in books. no need for class NOTES! Nice professor. GOT AN "A"...easy! I'm only 2.6 gpa !

Very interesting professor, the class is entry level but he introduces and reveals "inconvenient facts" that all people should become aware of.

Hi class sucked, honestly I dreaded entering the classroom doors every m,w and f. He's a jerk I don't think he likes anyone, but Native Americans and himself. He was not helpful, he made the test way too hard and he would give you a study guide with questions that "were" supposed to be on the test, but never were! Take him if you dare.

He's a nice enough guy. He's really dry though, and days when he just lectures the whole time make me want to shoot myself. Tests are pretty easy though, because you get the essay questions ahead of time.
