Dr. Leonard is difficult to rate. On one hand he's a rather good professor, he certainly knows his material....but at the same time he's quite boring and the amount of information he expects you to know for his exams is ridiculous! I'd recommend him only if you're really passionate about Greek art/arch, but if you need an elective, look elsewhere.

beginning roots of western civilization. GO TO THE REVIEW SESSIONS. he himself is knowledgable but not too helpful, always passes you off to his TA. As long as you go to each lecture and the review session youll get a good grade.

His Egypt course was a breeze; his Greece course was not. If you are not an excellent memorizer, don't take his class, but you'll be missing out. Entertaining and very intelligent, Leonard knows his material and delivers with wit. Doesn't take attendance.

Excellent. Very knowledgeable, funny, and a good speaker. Tests require study, but are not overly hard. If you go to class and pay attention you can't help but get a good grade. Very accessible too.

This class is all rote memorization, made fun by the professor, who has an excellent grasp on satire. He's witty, he's hot, he's worldly, and he knows about wine. Tests are straightforward. Lots of pictures of art and ruins.

This was really a great class. Dr. Leonard was very clear as to what would be on the tests and the review sessions were very helpful. If you came to class and studied for tests, I don't know why you'd do badly in this class.

Freaking hard. Look out for his long lectures. None of the material covered in class is on the test, everything comes from the reading. Doesn't show up for reviews for tests, leaves TA's to do that. In other words, STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLASS/PROFESSOR!
