It takes some time to get used to him but once you do you can see he really wants you to do well. This is a VERY math heavy E-1 class and there is allot of self teaching needed.

very entertaining class for someone like me who is very quiet. made me love statistics although i am very bad at it. total grade was avg of mid and final. must hand i hw in order to recieve your grade but not a factor in your final grade.i watched most of the class complain the first half of semester but after midterm EVERYONE was respectful!

Doesn't have the best bedside manners but he wants you to pass. as long as you attend class and write down everything he puts on the board you will do really well. mid term and final are open notebook/textbook. with a few homeworks. the only people who give him negative reviews are the people who didn't go to class and didnt take notes.

He was a great professor if you paid attention. Everyone who complains his tests are hard are out of their minds. He gave the questions and answers a week before the test, gave opportunity to ask for clarification, and it was open book/open notebook. If you failed his class you had to try to fail.

I found myself confused and intimidated to ask questions. His rants were distracting. I ended up taking SPSS course at another school to pass. I received a B+ with other professor compared to failing in Montare's class.

He seems mean, but he is not. He is simply an old school professor, and he yells. That is just how he talks. Mean or not, he explains everything well. It might seem like he is mad at you for asking but you'll realize that is just how he responds to anyone about anything. He is a good teacher, in any case he is not there to be your friend.

I don't know who these other people have had, but Alberto Montare is the worst professor I've ever had in my life. He's becoming senile. He has no idea what he's doing most of the time and gets half of the calculations wrong. He confuses more than helps and yells at you if you ever ask questions. It's sickening.

Professor Montare is an amazing teacher. He knows what he is talking about, and is more than pleased to help students understand. Pay attention, take good notes. only midterm & final, both open book, and open notebook. If you just pay attention, ask questions when you don't understand, and take good notes you will be fine!

He's okay. The class is a lot of hard work. If you can get Holle for experimental I'd definitely recommend him first. But if not, montare is an alright 2nd. He'll at least pass you if you want to pass and do the work. Tests are VERY hard though and this class is A LOT of work so be prepared to put a lot of time into it.

Average. The worst thing about him are annoying idiosyncracies. Stutters a lot, makes stupid mistakes often while giving a lecture, and is prone to shouting a bit as if everything he says is intense or insanely important. Mid-term's open-book. You'll need good self-discipline for his homework since he only collects it at two points in the semester.

Professor Montare is great! If you expect someone to take your hand and walk you right through, forget about it. He is helpful if and when you ask him, if you don't then complain. His tests are NOT easy, you have to read the text book, but definately not impossible. Great sense of humor and loves what he does. Looks out for his students in everyway!

He does endless, boring experiments on reaction time for like the whole semester, doesn't teach too well, is really impatient, and crams the major project into the last 2 weeks after disapproving of every original idea you have. Then you end up repeating one of his personal experiments. Decent guy as a person, but wouldn't take him again.

Very good for exp 1, not so much for exp 2. He is helpful, but he always says wrong things so you have to pay attn and correct him a lot.but he's oldish so give him a little slack. Very approachable.dont be afraid of him Exp 2: makes you wait till last two weeks to do research, tests, and 20pg paper so unless u like cramming take sum1 else for exp2

He is a very smart & nice man, he may tend to yell at times but he means well, the class is not easy, but he explains extremely well & in detail, helps everyone understand. You need to do the homework to keep up & do well on the 2 tests. Will take him again.

As far as this class goes, it's not easy, so regardless of who u get it's gonna be a tough one. He explains things well, and if you do the hw and study, you should do fine. Nice man, very intelligent.
