Take this class! Labs consist of field trips and hands-on experience, tests are fair, and lectures are both useful and fun. Her emphasis is on analysis, not rote memorization--she teaches you not how to be a student, but a scientist.

Took this class as a science requirement and loved it. Alex is a wonderful lecturer and gets non-majors really excited about geology. Lectures are supplemented with local field trips. A terrific class that will change the way you look at the everyday world!

Weekly labs and write-ups are all that really matter. Lectures are useless, though interesting b/c she uses slides and videos a lot. Take it if you really, really like geology, but don't take it as an easy science requirement, b/c it's not!
