His class is tough, and he does not use many numbers. He rather uses symbols and weird examples. He does not use a textbook so it is hard to get extra help. His quizzes are average in difficulty, but his 3 exams are very hard. I would not take this professor for this class again.

This class was ridiculous. I never understood the lectures. He went way too fast and talked over everyones heads. His lecture notes never matched up with what he said in class. He doesn't offer much help in class and when you go to his office, his explanation STILL doesn't make sense. If you have ADHD, no joking, not the prof. for you.

Alex was cool. He digresses a lot, but his tangents were interesting. You have to be paying attention, because he can go fairly quickly, but it's still very manageable. He doesn't take attendance and he lets class out early quite often.

Wilce is a great guy and goes on some very interesting tangents, but he really does not help you with calculus. If you are an incoming taking freshmen, be hesitant of taking his class. He isn't really helpful.

Great guy, very funny. No textbook required for the class, which was why I took it. For stats, this guy is much more into theory than other profs. Others will require more computations and "number crunching." If you're okay with no book and just his lecture notes (which occasional typos), take his class.

Dr. Wilce is a nice guy who definitely knows what he's talking about with his subject matter. Gives out practice quizzes/exams which really helps the students! I STRONGLY recommend having Wilce in Statistics!!!!

I really struggled with this class because we didn't have a book so things weren't always easy to follow. I wrote down everything he said and wrote but he still was unclear at times. He is great when you ask him for extra help, he really makes sure you understand.

He's the best professor ever, its just that the damn registrars office forgot to add Real and Complex analysis to the prereq list for ALL of his classes.

great guy, but i had him for core per. and he made it way to confusing!! He made it a "math history" class instead of a core perspectives class...He is very knowledgeable and is extremely fair when it comes to homework etc.

I had him for core perspectives, a class where he can teach whatever his heart desires. Whoever let this man teach a class like this is crazy. He is the most intellegent person I've ever met and he certainly brings his intellect to bare. We've learned about everything from the math of sound and temperment to taking the root of imaginary numbers.

Not good at relating material to students at all. You will find yourself very confused. He teaches too much in generalities and doesn't give concrete examples to clear things up. I would suggest avoiding taking his classes.

The most intelligent professor I've ever had. I'm happy to have him for upper level math courses. He's difficult to understand at points, because his knowledge goes far beyond anything I'd understand, but promotes use of his office hours and always willing to help. Very nice, very entertaining, very chalky. Always wears a green shirt.

VERY fun professor. Some people say that he is always talking over everyone's heads but I didn't experience this. I didn't do well in his class but I had a fun time in it and I don't think I would have done nearly as well with another professor. If you like pleasantness and wit take Wilce, if you want another boring math class take someone else.

I had taken stats in high school which is probably the only reason I stayed above water in this class. He is so easy to tune out and he always goes on these random tangents of nothing relevant. He's extreamly nice and always willing to help. . .I really liked him as a teacher, but his class was a hard one.
