Disorganized class and the professor admitted he was not giving the course his full attention. His online lectures are solid blocks of text without much punctuation or organization. He stopped grading assignments halfway through and gave zero feedback, then started rush grading everything at the end. No communication if you have questions. SKIP!

I really loved taking online Soc 114 with Martinez. If you are not able to manage your time, online classes probably aren't for you. There's a quiz, 1-2 page assignment, film review assignment & discussion due every week by Sunday. It sounds like a lot but it really isn't bad. I've learned so much about different cultures! Prefer 114 way over 120!

Professor Martinez is an extremely devoted teacher which shows in the way he teaches. He is fair and gives every student the opportunity to better their grades with extra credit. If you do your work you will pass this class. I enjoyed this course.

I don't even know where to begin. Can't use his syllabus because the due dates are incorrect since he constantly changes them. His emails are hard to understand thanks to poor grammar and incorrect spelling. Extremely disorganized and unclear. You don't know what assignments you're supposed to be doing and when they are due. Do NOT take this class

Hes a very nice guy but he tends to wander off and his lectures are very repetitive. He draws all over the board during the lectures and reminds me of John Madden. Hes very passionate about the subject but read the book to get a good grade in this class.

Everyone complained that he was boring, but if u haven't had any sociology or poli sci classes I can see how they would say it was boring. He's passionate about socio-economic issues and their evolution and manifestation within the Chicano culture.Interesting class, broadened or even diminished many of my opinions.SUPER easy if u try&cool teach!

First 8 weeks of this class were really fun and teacher was helpful. Then he repeated every story 10 times, showed up every now and then. He went from a great teacher to a terrible one in days. I would never take him again, I dont know how he grades but somehow I had an A the entire sememster and end up with a C. HE SUCKS!

Mr. Gomez never talked in class and watched movies like everyday for the whole time. Only 2 test and 3 paper that were like 2pages long and grades very easy. The easiest class ever.

As a teacher he tries hard to pass on a message of historical events and facts to students. The style on way in which he tries to do so, can be very confusing. Most high school/jc students like him, I don't recommend him if you have further your academic knoweledge pass that level.
