She has a very heavy accent, the class is very test heavy and if you have never had calc before you will need to teach yourself. Attendance is taken using the clickers, very boring class. Her lessons confused me on the math that I already knew, how does that even happen?

Her lectures are terrible. I fall asleep every class and when I am awake she constantly makes basic algebra mistakes. Posts her previous tests online so if you memorize the answers it's an easy grade.

Worst professor! She creates powerpoints from the book and does a horrible job of explaining them. Homework assignments can be revised, but she is a tough grader. Thankfully she curves her tests and offers extra credit or everyone would fail. Avoid her if possible.

Strong accent, but you will get used to it. Tests are all multiple choice. I found myself better off learning the material at tutoring or on my own through the WebAssign homework.

Terrible teacher. Speaks loudly and interrupts students. Creates useless PowerPoints and essentially says exactly what is on them. Uploads PowerPoints, so the class can be taken from home; however, she uses the ever-so-useless clicker system to record attendance with quizzes. Overall, a terrible teacher. If you get her, prepare to teach yourself.

Heavy accent but understandable. If you took Calc in high school you'll be fine, if not be prepare to spend time with a tutor. Her test were easy if you knew how to do problems on the study guide. It's easier than 1065 (No Cave) Attendance isn't mandatory but if you can't self teach, I would advise you to go. Clicker questions are extra credit.

She wasn't very clear during her lectures in class and all she does is teach by example. She was very willing to give extensions on homework as long as you ask

She's a great professor. Attendance is for extra credit points, but not mandatory. The class is confusing if you skip a lot, but she pulls material from old test which are all online for access, gives study guide(which doesn't really help) but still gives one! Go over old test and do your online homework and you'll pass with A-B

She is very excited about the material, but the lectures are extremely boring. Her tests are almost the same to previous ones she has posted to her website. She has an accent but it's not hard to understand her. Do the homework it will help with your grade.

Dr. Shalpentokh is a good professor, the class is hard and she goes a little fast but don't be afraid to ask questions. Do the homework and go to class for clicker and attendance points, and do the practice exam and you'll do fine.

Ahh professor Shlappy. She has a decent accent but its kinda easy to get over. DO THE HW!! you have 1 test (30%), a final (40%) and hw via WebAssign (30%) as your grade. she curves the tests hella hard but make sure you still study. The tests are nothing like the study guide she gives you, but they are do-able. No way you can fail this class.

Awesome professor! Really enjoys teaching and quite charismatic as well. She made the material easy to understand and her tests came straight off the previous year's tests that she makes available for you to see. Gives a very generous curve and just an all around great experience. If you have to take calc 1 or 2 she's a definite must!

Extremely lenient on homework deadlines, always ask for extensions if necessary. Always willing to help out. Really knows her stuff, goes over examples in depth and will repeat or answer any questions. I like her stories about Soviet Russia too.

Pretty hard class, and even harder to teach. Her teaching is good, however I was still stumped on many subjects and didn't understand her explanations of them. She does help you out if you ask and will try her best to help you pass.

Nice lady and the tests aren't that hard. Her tests usually come straight from previous classes and are pretty much word for word. Has a sense of humor and really enjoys teaching calculus. She has a really weird grading scale but usually comes with a good curve. Takes attendance and puts it into consideration in your final grade so go to class.

Awful teacher. She seems friendly but is awful at teaching. She assigns a ridiculous amount of homework. Never follows what she says. Her philosophy is "Just because I write it in class doesn't mean that is how you can write it back to me on a test". She is not willing to ever correct her mistakes but instead she thinks she's always right.

Very nice and straightforward Professor. I like the way she will back up from the board and ask, "do you believe this, or are you just writing what I wrote?". She sparks interest in those who are interested in the subject. If you're fresh out of high school, maybe she's not for you.
