A lot of people gripe about how Al doesn't provide feedback. Maybe those people are looking for black and white answers in a creative major full of grey areas. There is never ONE right answer in design; Al just wants you to find the best one for you and the situation at hand, but he WILL help you get to the solution if you're patient and open.

Arrogant. Does not give any feedback, does not respond to email. Not helpful at all. I worked independently and got an A in both classes, but I learned from the textbook and my own research, not so much from him. Not sure what I was paying for.

ASU is lucky to have a professor like Al. He is knowledgeable, has a great eye, and very helpful. Much more than a professor, he can teach you a lot about the field. He spent an entire lecture about the hardships of starting your own company after graduation that changed my life.
