Had Dr. B for history civil war till ww2 , likes to talk but interesting if you like history. He makes you read 3 books and the tests on them are harder than his lecture tests, so study. He is also helpful to students.

First off Dr.B is a good man. However, be advised his lectures are all over the place and very disorganized He also tends to loose focus.Tests are hard and there is tons of reading all corresponding with the exams. My recommendation is to take another professor if possible.

His Hist 101 course has quite a bit of reading involved, but if you have a common sense about history, you can easily skim and scan. Make sure you study for exams and go to class to take notes. Read the required chapters and know the terms and it is an easy class. Hist 102 was better than 101, less reading involved. He is a good prof TAKE the class

Don't take this class! Unrealistic amount of reading for an introductory class. I am really a good student and I will end with like B to B+ but I invested ridiculous amount of effort. In any other classes I would have an A easily. He DOES have many positive virtues but you can get your grade way easier. Don't take this class...

I like history, that made this class much easier. my friend had some trouble in it, but as long as you take good notes and read all of the outside reading, then you should be fine. The outside reading is intense, but extremely worth it. the tests had some hard points, but were relatively straight forward. i never had an issue in this class.

Worst teacher ever. He is so rude to students, thinks that he knows everything. Once in class my friend was reading a book for his class and he stopped class and told him to either stop reading or leave. Once at 8am I yawned in class and he went on to lecture me about how rude yawning is. He is horrible and tests are stupid.

really entertaining and energetic!he goes off on tangents, but they are always related to the history topic, and give insights to historical figures. Use the study guides he gives. Make sure to read all of the books; there's a lot of reading, and if you don't look over the notes and reading, you'll fall behind.

If you are able to read independently, and review your notes before class it will be one of the easiest classes you will ever have. He is extremely energetic and one of the best teachers I ever had here. Pay attention and don't wait until the day before the test to study and you will do fine.

His lectures do not include students in the slightest, but are usually pretty entertaining. You can feel like you truly understand the information, but once you stumble across his true/false (which make up the bulk of his exams) you'll cry a sad sad song.
